what is sprint doing with android?

Just a thought about sprint and the android phones. Sprint has just released the Hero, which I have not had a chance to play with, and is soon releasing the moment, which by all reports look good.
Both of there phones are running android 1.5, or 1.6, which to me already seems outdated with the launch of Verizons droid running 2.0. Google recently announced their branded navigation, which is designed around android 2.0. It seems as if the android 2.0 is going to become the standard platform for android.
It is my understanding that neither the moment or the hero are capable or running 2.0, unless I am mistaken. So if this is the case, what does sprint have coming up to compete with the droid?

Re: what is sprint doing with android?

Well, I returned my Hero, due to lag issues, and got my wife the moment, which she loves. I am completely over winmo and want an android device with the snapdragon processor. Anyone have a clue what sprint has planned to compete with the droid?

Re: what is sprint doing with android?

They will soon, but like usual, itll be with some half-***** hardware and a little too late. My only issue with other carriers is at&t and t-mobile have slow data and ****ty coverage while verizon rapes its customers ($30 data charge? wtf, its 2009!) so Im just stuck with Sprint. I guess any android phone is better than my Touch Pro in its current state...
