WaHooooooo talk about off topic? I think the OP should offer advice and assistance as seen fit and nothing more. I would hate it if someone told me my phose chouce su*ks. Especially right after spending the money and upping my plan! LOL

I was told by the manager at a sprint corporate store, that the evo is much better than the epic, and there have been more hardware issues and returns with the Epic. Thats why I chose EVO and really like it. Also the epic doesn't have a native way to sync with outlook... HTC phones do. That pushed me over the fence.

The issue that most people return for is GPS which is fixed with Froyo..if you look at the actual returns for issues that are software related and hardware related you would see Evo has more returns due to hardware issues..

As for outlook sync..it is kinda sad Sprint chose to not allow Samsung Kies(which offers outlook sync)...probably because they want to charge people extra for the APKs Samsung gives away for FREE...

you can sync Epic with outlook but gotta buy the software for it...called CompanionLink...you can also sync through gmail..

I had a hell of a time with syncing with the hotmail exchange server with my EVO... I had to download a second mail client for my phone as the native one will not do it.
My wife's EVO shift synced without a hitch.
NOt sure what the issue is there... However. My point is... Would the Epic not sync with outlook via exchange server if you sync your home outlook with hotmail?
Or are we talking about outlook on a corporate server? In which case the different mail client sould help.

The Epic does exchange server no problem..the problem is Outlook Sync..which is the physically plugging your phone into the PC for those that don't have exchange servers and just use Outlook as a client...normally the Galaxy S phones do it via Kies, just like HTC has HTC Sync..but for some reason the carriers all denied Kies (my guess is they didn't want people to get access to the free APKs like Sprint gives you a Demo of Asphalt 5 and makes you buy it...Samsung gives full version for Free)

do you know of another team trying to port it?

I am very curious because I know some Vibrant owners who'd love to have Sense.

damn I was hoping for something more than a thread closed almost 4 months ago and seemingly no progress...

when is the epic froyo source supposed to be released?

does the epic even have an official 2.2 out yet?
