Moving contacts from WM to Android
Android is a Google device. It syncs with your Google account. Anything you have on Google, will transfer to your Android device when you log onto that account with your Android device for the first time.
Keep in mind if you have multiple Google accounts on which one you wish to use and sync with your Android device. You don't need to have a special program to transfer your contacts from your WM device to your Android device, or have your carrier transfer them over for you. Follow these instructions to have your WM device sync with Google with the account you decide will be your mobile account. Or your only account if that is what you have. Setting Up Your Windows Mobile Phone for Google Sync : Mail, Calendar & Contacts Sync - Google Mobile Help Using this method will auto sync your WM device daily, or when ever you make changes to it. When you get your Android device, and log it in to same account used on your WM device, everything will be in your Android device. If you continue to use both devices, this will allow your WM device to sync automatically to your Android device.

Re: Moving contacts from WM to Android
Too late seams to be what i notice on all the threads about this. Wm phone has been turned off or broke and syncing now isn't an option. I got tired of using pim backup and sometimes it wouldn't auto run it's self, and the constant flashing or having to do frequant hard resets, found my pim backup to be missing things, even had it currupt a couple times and had to install months old pims. then i figured how to google sync. hard resets became less hassle when i would just resync my wm. when i got android, they asked if i had a google account and i had already logged in and had all my contacts befor i paid for phone. i continued to use my tp synced and used my evo for first couple weeks. I would add contact to tp, put it down and pick up evo, and that contact was on the evo. Sorry to say, but that is just too damn ez.

They loaded to the Evo when I entered my Gmail credentials on it. Then I used HTC Sync to keep the phone sync'd to Outlook, where I make and keep all the changes. Now Outlook and Gmail match, but I have duplicates of some contacts and events, and some are missing. |
