Google flexes biceps, flicks Android remote kill switch for the first time

Anyone know what what apps are getting "cleaned up"... Along the same lines, anyone know how to prevent this? Perhaps rooting?

Re: Google flexes biceps, flicks Android remote kill switch for the first time

Another question would be, can they only remove apps that were installed from the market or do they have the ability to do some sort of file based auditing to identify apps installed outside of the market and remove those as well?

Me personally, I like to have the apks of all the apps and games I use so I can install and uninstall as needed without having to hunt them down in the market. I've noticed when I install apps outside of the market place, they don't register in the market place so this may be a work around. That is, if they can't perform some sort of file based audit on our devices to see what we have...
