Re: MS wants a piece of Andriod..
im still amazed HTC has to pay MS royalties for letting HTC put Andriod on their own phones..
if i were HTC i'd get back at MS by not putting wmobile on any of their devices, and only support Andriod.. MS would lose big time as HTC is their biggest wm distributor. HTC can do pretty good without wm imo. so pretty much ANY operating system, whether it's for mobile devices or computers MS gets a piece of the pie, unbelievable..

Re: MS wants a piece of Andriod..
Isn't it possible that this is just a formality before taking aims at the iphone and ipad for infringment? it seems to me microsoft made a deal with their biggest partner in the smartphone business before taking that same shot at apple... they could be thinking of taking the same steps with their other partners (HP, Motorola, Samsung, etc.). couldn't it be possible that the royalty fee's are a negligable amount put in place so they don't look stupid before going after apple? This could be their first step in assisting HTC and other Android/WM partners in their fight with apple...

Re: MS wants a piece of Andriod..
patent infringment... my thought is MS is using the HTC licensing as a first step in firing at apple with patent infringment suit. This was made too public too quickly but at the same time very secretive in describing any patents infringed upon.
