I could not be happier with my Droid X. Ever since the iPod Touch came out, or just before, I saw the death of my precious pocket pc. I had a toshiba E755. For its time, it was awesome. I knew the time for pda was done, in that incarnation. I saw that the touch was going to be very popular, but I didn't want to buy into the canned operating system. I found later, the Sanding omnia, and, other than the small size, was happy to have my pda device back. It even came with the non touch friendly Windows Mobile 6.1. I found this to be behind the times, so started flashing the leaked 6.5 rims in all of its incarnations. I had a blast doing thus, but didn't really do it for functiionality. When Android first came out, I avoided it because, even though winmo had issues, I knew how to get around them. Android was too new, and I knew there would be bugs that the population would have to wait for fixes for. So, I stuck to my Omnia.

When I was eligible to upgrade, I really wanted to try the Iphone 4. But I saw this nice little phone called the Droid X. I also noticed that Android in general had matured really quickly. I gave it a try, and about two months later I am absolutely loving it. I think, as stated earlier, winmo 7 is a downgrade from earlier versions of winmo, so I will never jump onto that bandwagon. I am enjoying this new phone so much, that I can overlook some of the things I no longer have from winmo.

The way winmo has moved, I will never go back to it. I still have my Omnia, that I use now and again, and my Toshiba E755, which I also use on rare occasion.

Lovin the EVO and Android!

I switch from the tp2 to evo. I *will not go back to winmo 65. I had the g1 a few years back it was an outstanding experience. But at that time was head over heels for my HTC diamond.

I played with one of the WP7 phones yesterday... leaving android 2.2 for that would be like dropping a porsche GT and going back to an Accord stationwagon with the motor knocking. The lack of functionality is like going back to the first iphone but with a different interface. Im not loyal to ANY brand as ive had winmo, iphones and droids but honestly that thing is like a smart phone for beginners.

It seems like they rushed it out just to have it on the market before the holiday season but my thing is why would you put it out there gimped like it is with no copy and paste, multitasking etc and then say "oh itll be coming next year?" With all the time they took developing it ill never understand that. And with the tons of advertising dollars they put into it.. to only move 40K units on 2 different carriers total the first day seems kind of dysmal.

But hey what do I know. All I can say is I hope they do a better job of supporting wp7 than they did with winmo. I cant EVER remember getting an update from them.

Anyone have an optimus?

yankees45us 12-01-2010 02:36 PM

Switched from wm and v my tp2 in june. Haven't looked back once. That said, I still have tp2 as a backup and a world phone. Looking forward to try wp7 when it comes to sprint. I love android though. It is smooth and it just works.

I have heard good things about the optimus. I recommend it if you don't miss htc sense. Also you won't have to pay the useless $10 premium if you don't get 4g in your area.

Ok, got the optimus last night for $1.05. At Best Buy.
It is a fast phone, faster than my tp2, and better apps. It will take a while to get going with it, but I think overall it will be ok

Hey Yankees45us, does stealthguards have a protective cover for the optimus yet?

Any recommendations?

Well, you could always get an Android phone with Sense on it. ;)
