This is an easy problem to fix. Open up your favorite registry editor, and go to local machine/comm/internetsharing/ I think its settings or status. Look for a key labled ForceCellConnection. Just delete it. I have not found out if this will stick through reboots (it hasn't in the past with the OEM rom), but it should get it working.

Does anyone have any suggestions for overcoming a "262: Update Error"? The readme suggests recovering and attempting the RUU again. I have done so three times, with #262 standing in my way each time.

I am on XP, no extra programs running, no screen saver...I even tried it with my AV & firewall protection off - and no luck. TIA!

VISTA AND XP the same problem: after "click Next to proceed.." connection terminated ,progress bar on PC site and 3color bar on the palm pro. In 1 min (XP) and in 4min (VISTA) window ERROR(260):CONNECTION appears.
I think RUU should keep connection itself after all validation processes.

This fix worked for me. Also the fix sticks after a soft reboot.

Installed the rom today and the first thing I noticed is that on the dpad left is now down and right is now up. Any way to resolve this or do I need to revert back to the sprint rom.

I had a try but RUU still breaks the connection.One more thing is happened:
now loader changed from SPL 0.32.SSPL to SPL 0.36.0000
The reason I try to upgrade ROM is to restore calibration data for
digitizer; can not get anywhere. If you use Trio Pro please upload this
data - calibrationdata in regesry. Thanks.
