Tips, Tricks and Cabs:


1. Updating ROM:

Make sure you backup all your files(contacts, calendar etc.) using Active Sync.

If you have already backed-up everything, you don't need to re-sync your phone to Active Sync.

i. Simply just hold the Camera(side) button and Power button, you will get the boot loader window.
ii. Connect USB cable and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe.

2. Install carrier cabs files from EXTROM

1. If you have Resco Explorer, navigate to 'Root' directory by pressing the ‘Up’ button
2. Select ‘Extended_Rom’ and then ‘Packages’ folder
3. Open ‘Cap_01_SPRINT_TREOPRO.pxp’ with ZipView
4. Install the cabs you want.

Designated for 96 DPI Users:



It is recommended to install RealVga right after you load the rom.

1. Install Realvga. This can be installed to your SD Card.(i got this from some website long time ago, don't know whom to give credit).
2. Install RealVGA96DPI-ResourcesFor6.5.cab..Updated. Install this to our device. (Thanks zevot for original cab). You can press cancel when it asks you to restart.
3. Open Real VGA, set the DPI settings to 96 and press 'Ok'. Make sure to leave the 'Disable phone skin' checked.
4. Then you'll be prompted to perform perform soft reset. Press 'OK'
5. You are all set!

***This will install 4 column start menu***

Loaded up fine. Ringer for phone seems to work. Bluetooth connected to my headset.
Still just starting to play, but seems good so far.
And, I LOVE that it's clean with no crap-ware. I can load my own stuff via Sashimi and use it just the way I want.
Thanks again and will update if I have any issues.

By the way, not using RealVGA, but am using the 4-column start menu, slightly smaller sized menu, and Sprint Profile and PRL apps via these .cabs. (Can't recall where I got em, but they're helpful.)

UPDATE 2: Seems to be working really well. Loaded my own apps, syncing with my Exchange server, SMS, emails and calls coming through and letting me know same. If this keeps up we might have a keeper here!!

Can someone try to send a picture-mail with the ROM? I tried, it failed to send on two attempts (but I might not have had an adequate signal). Setup looked fine.

I then used a Remove Arcsoft .cab and reinstalled it and now is sending fine.

Just wanted to make sure the issue was me and not the ROM. If it's the ROM, I'd be happy to post those two cabs I used to get mine working fine.
