BigE Rom Build 23518 V 1.0 (updated 1/31/2010)

i got this phone used and i have not got it to sync with outlook it will with msn but not outlook. i have been trying to for the last week no luck. i can get into my exchange server over the internet using the same info i tried to put into the phone no luck. i have 6.5 and bige upgrade does the password have to be very secure or will simple work.

try going to start/activesync and delete a partnership if one is there.(if one isnt, then when u tap activesync, it will give u a link to start a new partnership)
also, if all else fails, backup ur contacts and hard reset and try again

23511 is by far the fastest ROM I've found for my treo pro.
23518 was a bit slow for me.

But thank you for your hard work!

I'm using the "classic" today screen because a few of my apps have some items I like to use.
Usually I can add a today item for SMS so when I hit it I just jump to SMS.

All I can find on this ROM is a messaging plugin where I have to hit messaging and then SMS on the window that comes up.

justed tried the hard reset.

nothing the hard reset did not work. still saying password incorrect. Please update your password to continue

it seems that when i type in the password it underscore the password i can see it when i put in the pasword is there a fix for that?

I've hit a brick wall. I'm trying to update my phone for the new SMS fix (so that the dates aren't showing up as 2016 anymore) However, this rom is using 1.03-SPT rather than the 1.04-SPT which is required to apply the update. Has anyone else been able to get the update applied? I also tried the ALLTEL version which is for the 1.03-SPT, but wouldn't let me install either. Why is this rom even based on the 1.03 rom anyway? Weren't there alot of issues with it?

1.04 is what it is...what happens when u try to install the file from the palm site?

that's weird I'm running the previous version, not the updated 1/31 version of this rom, but the one before that. Mine says it's 1.03-SPT and it says Incorrect Device, "This update will only support Palm Treo Pro version 1.04-SPT" then the installation fails. When I try to install the alltel the 1.03-SPT version from the palm site it says Setup Error, "Invalid software version, the update process is abort." so they both fail. I bought my phone on ebay so it was probably one of those recalled Sprint 1.03-SPT phones. I wonder if I use the 1.03-1.04 updater then reinstall this rom if it'll display as 1.04-SPT. I would have thought that it was whatever this rom displayed it as though. Is there a difference between a custom rom and the 1.03-SPT & 1.04-SPT? I kinda thought the 1.03-SPT & 1.04-SPT where just the original roms and the custom rom would display as one of those, but have a custom OS, settings, programs, etc. Is this wrong? Will the installation of a custom rom not change the 1.03 or 1.04-SPT at all? Thanks for the reply skeegcpp.

Only difference is is that I have the 23511 where you have the 23518. Can anyone with the 23511 confirm their software version?

@grompy, that screenshot is of the 23511 build. i thot the OP had the same build as me, 23518. try flashin the 23518 build and c if that fixes anything
