Agreed on this ROM. I was bored and decided to give a 6.5.3 ROM a try over the weekend and am impressed so far.

Not 100% hooked on 6.5.3 in general tho, as old habits die hard with regard to the start menu being on the bottom. However, I am gonna leave it on the phone for a few days and see how things go.

I may have to give the kitchen a try and see what it can do.

The two issues I am having so far with the 23518 build are...

1) I can't seem to send a file to my phone via bluetooth. It sets up fine but when I actually try to send the file, it always gives me an error about OBEX or something like that(I'll update the exact error tonight). I've never had this issue with any ROM I have tried. Then again this is my first 6.5.3 ROM.

2) I can't get Microsoft Myphone to connect. It keeps coming back with "An unexpected error occured, Please try again later". I've even tried installing it again to see and same thing.

**EDIT**
Scratch #2 off the list. Mysteriously Myphone connected later in the day so it must have been an issue with Microsoft. #1 is still an issue tho.

so opera keeps telling me im out of memory with just one tab open. im running the 23518 2.5 rom. any suggestions?

I have this same issue. I posted up and the response I was given is that this ROM and other 2.5s run with a lot of overhead since the intended devices have more ROM/RAM than the TP2. After boot, I've go about 70mb free and after fooling around for a while I'm easily at 25mb. Add something memory intensive and I can easily drop to 18 or less.

Do a restart, then you should be fine for a while.

that was the exact answer that i expedted honestly. thanks for your help. so once again htc spits out a phone that is too far behind the comepition already. i love my tp2 but the specs shouldnt equal the tp...

I can tell you that your number 1 issue is not just a ROM issue. There are settings in the bluetooth that you can play with or you may have to reflash.

Hi,

I am brand new to the Sprint TP2 (as of Monday), but have been on the forums for a while with my TP1. The first rom I tried on my new phone is this 21888 manila 2.5. So far I am loving it, but I do have a couple of questions.

I have seen some posts about g-alarm causing other problems. Does anyone have it working successfully without issues? I used this version for the past year with my TP on custom roms, but it does not seem to be working properly for me now. It will wake the phone at the right time and appears to attempt to launch, but the program and therefore the alarm (mp3 file) never plays.

Also, with the programs baked into the rom, am I correct in assuming the only way to upgrade would be to fully install a newer version and have two versions on the phone. For example, when google maps is updated, I am assuming that we would not be able to upgrade our current version, we would have to install the new version into RAM memory. Is that right, or am I missing something?

Thanks for any help. I am looking forward to maxing out my new toy...lol.

I have reflashed several times and even bbuilt my own ROM using Caulk's kitchen and still have the same issue. Bluetooth seems to work great for everything EXCEPT file transfer. It connects up first time, everytime(more than I can say for other ROMS) with my handsfree device and the phone hangs up when I tell it to. I just cannot get a file to send from my netbook(using a bluetooth doggle) to the phone. It gives me an error every single time. On other ROMS(all 2.1/2.5 ROMS I have tried and that has been many), the file transfer can be finicky in that I may have to retry several times, but it always eventually works, but not on this ROM/Kitchen.

So if anyone has gotten file transfers to work on this ROM(specifically the 6.5.3/2.5 ROM), lemme know what you did.
