Ok, I've been searching for this for a while, but I can't find anything. Since I cook in the apps that I use all of the time, I created EXT's out of the cab. It's been working great. However the EXT copies the files from the Windows folder to the proper folder. This creates duplicates. Is there a way to either delete the files from the Windows folder, or have the EXT MOVE the files instead of copy them? It seems like a huge waste of space.
I did find this post from Calk.

But that makes it sound like since they're original files cooked into the rom, that you can't delete them.

Any ideas?
Kevin

That is correct. Every file in the ROM is copied from (or used directly from) the Windows folder.
I had a bit of a speed increase when I switched several apps to cab installs. For example, I made a 6MB cab of all the "Ring-", "Alert-" and "Alarm-" files that get copied out of the Windows folder and removed them from the kitchen's OEM folders (The only problem is that editing the OEM folders is how I end up with most of my cooking errors, so I've learned to do that sparingly).

I've been trying to delete the stwater_*.*'s from the ROM. I've tried to delete them from the 6.xx tweeks folders or even replace them (before I cook a Rom)with no luck. They keep showing up they must be some else also. Any ideas on how to delete these? If not then replace them.

if your trying to replace the wallpapers then you need to get the manila files and replace the pictures in them also... check the manila 2.5 - wallpaper - flamerise files. replace the pictures in them with a manila editor and your golden

For things like that, I generally add the files I want to an EXT near the end of the build.
I've been splitting the custom image files between my custom Taskbar's and my custom HTC Animation Packages. Both folders are in the EXT->Shared folder so it does the trick perfectly.

I think it is because they are part of the tsk file. The only way to delete/replace them is to create a new flamerise.tsk and copy that over the top of the old one, at least that's how I did it. there is a write up on creating tsk files here: http://winmo.techparaiso.com/how-to-...bile-phone-os/

hope this helps.

Does this work for Manila? From what i have seen the flamerise wallpaper doesnt show up at all anyway.

Has anyone experienced any problems with Manila rebooting after sending a Text? I just noticed some issues, and am curious if there are known problems with texting through manila. I finally have MMS working, and now i seem to have problems with standard texting.
