Why am I not allowed to remove some of the OEM packages? They don't look all are needed...

what do you mean by remove? is it not allowing you to select false or are you trying to remove it from the kitchen all together?

Yep....then make sure you grab the shortcuts and add them to your start menu somewhere. If you want I can post an EXT monday when I get back to my work computer.

They are things that are vital to having certain things in the ROM work. You can go into the Packages.txt and change them but you run the risk of causing something else in your ROM to stop functioning properly.

I would definitely appreciate this, because honestly the files i was talking about moving were the shortcuts files, so if there are other files i have to move i don't know which ones.

Thanks a lot for the tip. I don't think "Obex Inbox" is really required and I don't like to put things I can install to the ROM.

I don't understand most of the knobs in this. Is there a documentation other than this thread?

taking out Obex will cause some Bluetooth issues amongst other file sharing options breaking functionality. It's actually best to leave most of that in there you can get surgical if you want editing the packages.txt and testing but might want to save yourself the headaches

I was not able to edit the packages.txt. Everytime I start to build the rom, it gets overridden. I even tried overriding the file after initiating the run. I was able to override the file but output didn't have any change.
