Re: [update][ROM] WM 6.5.1 titanium SYS build 23506.5.50

Went on my first business trip with this ROM and ran in to an issue where the phone is dialing 011 before any phone numbers I dial from my "company contact list" sync'd by exchange. Numbers in my normal contact list are fine.

I have tried every setting I can think if but no luck. For now I am just writing the number on a post-it then manually dialing it (which works fine).

Anyone know where the setting is that adds the 011 in front of the company sync'd phone numbers ?

Thanks

i think that has something to do with the phone >options>cdma>current country options. also you can try changing default arecode.
that is jsut a guess, i have no clue why it is happening .

If you like it or find any problems, let me know, i have not found any problems other than bluetooth icon not showing up.

i have organized start menu, fixed bluetooth icon issue , made lock screen faster and cleaned up some more. I will upload next version tonight or tomorrow.

I love this Rom. I think the new finger friendly windows is really nice, and the simplicity and speed of your Rom is making me rethink Titanium. VERY nice job

Disabling Sense UI under the Today settings only removes it from the Today screen. All of the other manila functions still operate in the background. Here is an example with text messaging:

Manila has its own interface and process for text messaging that still runs in the background, even if you disable it from the Today settings screen. When you get a text message, it is still processed by both manila and the windows mobile messaging service. So each time you receive a text message it uses more ram, and more cpu, which in turn uses more battery life and makes the entire process of receiving an SMS slower.... In short, this rom should be faster than mighty's rom with Sense UI disabled.

Using a pure Titanium build is the only way to circumvent Sense UI.

By the way.. att, I really appreciate what you're trying to do here with a Titanium only build. It runs much more smoothly without manila.

However, do you think it would be possible to clean up the softkeys a bit. They are pretty dang ugly ;) Other than that, I think your rom would be my top choice.

Thanks

updated to 23517
23517 comes with office 2010 (newer outlook is nice )
rom installs operamini and nitrogen media player , that can be uninstalled if you dont need those.
it also has built in today,s agenda plugin.
rom is clean, stable and fast, approx 80 mb mem is used.
there are no known issuses except couple of minor wm 6.5 bugs.

Love the clean ROMs and thank you for the work.

The only thing is putting the "Rom by a1jatt" right on the front screen. I have no problem with you getting recognized for your work but is there any way not to do it on the front screen? It's your ROM so you can do what you want.

Thanks.

Oops , i forgot to add office 2010.
Outlook is newer for sure. It has gmail style email organization ( conversations ? )
I think PIE is newer too, in older pie we only had "mobile" or "desktop" options, this one has "auto" as well, but i could be wrong.

No big deal I have flashed your rom and loaded it up last night, giving it a try today and so far all seems good although i have not used it to much yet.

Question the auto lock, every other rom others have tried that reg hack and it never seemed to work, this is no third party package? the auto lock from MS really works?!

I use PShield so doesn't help me out but its a really cool feature that i could never figure out why MS wouldn't have an auto lock without using a pin. Until now I thought it was necessary to use a third party app to get that feature to work.

From Erick Will of eten-users.eu forum...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Microsoft has different COM trees which are active. All those branches / trees focus on a certain aspect of the OS and remain active even after the OS has been released.
COM5 is the branch starting with 235xx, and contains at this point nothing new. It's unknown what the main focus is, but it is likely to replace COM3 and COM4 and integrate all the changes uptill now. This means the other COM trees will die off and become active once the OS get's released (as was the case with COM2 and COM3)...
COM8 is currently the most stable and contain the integration of another experimental branches.
There are no noticeable differences, Everybody says Com8 is supposed to be better but i think com5 works better with TP2, it seems to be much smoother and faster.
autolock is a stock app that comes with wm 6.5.x and it works, there were not third party apps used to get the autolock to work.
Does anybody know whether AVRCP works normally on this ROM given that there is no SenseUI to intercept the commands? That would be sweet.
windows mobile has built in AVRCP support, you dont need manila for that. If you use windows media player you can use AVRCP.
There is one little problem though, autolock interefers with windows media player, when autolock is active it start cutting out audio. So if you want to use AVRCP , install the "disable autolock" cab and use windows media player, as Nitrogen does not support AVRCP.
Thanks for the reply - a bit more background on my question is probably in order. HTC stuck some extra bits in the BT stack so that AVRCP was hardwired to run HTC Media Player if SenseUI was on, or WMP if SenseUI was off. People who use alternative media players with AVRCP support like Pocket Music or Kinoma were left out in the cold as a result. For phones that use the MS BT stack (like the original TP), there is a fix over on xda that reverses what HTC did by replacing some HTC modified BT files with the MS default versions. The TP2 uses the WidComm BT stack, so the fix doesn't work.
I was just wondering if, seing as how SenseUI is not merely turned off, but just plain not present in your ROM, AVRCP might work with anybody's player as long as the player supports AVRCP. Not sure which stack you might be using as well...
Anyway - thanks again!
I have been running for a few days now, happy to report good luck so far loaded down with many apps including mobileshell, phonex, kinoma and too many to list apps, opera 10 b2u runs well, your installed version of opera mini 5 b2 is better then another cab i have installed on previous roms for some reason in the past when browsing mini on ppcgeeks clicking on links would just take me back to the same page.
I like that everything is so clean and stripped, to the other comment about a manilla version I am sure that a rom chef making a stripped rom will not have manilla in it, hence why it has the dialer removed. Many people enjoy installing there own customizations. To people looking for a manilla rom there are too many to choose from, unlike these rare jewels that few chefs take time to put together with the bare necessities.
About the volume control I agree the default is not pretty...lol but i have installed volume keys .3 from xda and is great, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=598997
check it out its great! This is the beauty of clean roms, install what ever you want cabs are readily available for anything you could want.
I came from the 28014 builds that are so readily available, I really like the new outlook with the conversations feature working. Also this is the first rom I have seen with MS AutoLock working. I dont use IE much but it does seem to be smoother and faster.
Thanks for the clean rom, appreciate your work please keep the comming clean!
To enable a simple reboot capability, unzip and copy the attached quickreset.exe application to your phone. You can either put it directly in the Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder or use Total Commander or File Explorer to create a shortcut to wherever it is located (e.g. in the Program Files folder).
Long Press End key to power down works for me.
Re: [23517][ROM] WM 6.5.5 titanium
I've been running this ROM for a few days and am enjoying the snappier response of a "lean ROM" that has the latest WM 6.5.X build. I've successfully installed a number of apps including Mobile Shell, WeatherPanel, PhonEx, TouchPal, Spb Traveler, eWallet, ListPro and more, and there is still plenty of headroom compared to the Manila 28xxx ROMs I had been using.
I made a few registry changes to restore the Owner Information and Input icons in order to be able to register some third party software and SIPs. The simple changes are described here:
http: //pocketnow.com/tweaks-hacks/how-to-restore-owner-information-icon-in-wm65-settings
I also made a few additional registry changes to enable the use of Opera Mobile Favorites and the Zoom Slider:
To enable bookmarks :
HKLM\software\opera\info\useoperabookmark
set this to 1
To enable the zoom slider :
HKLM\software\opera\defaults\zoomsliderenabled
set this to 1
Thanks for your work.
Thanks. downloading now and updating. One thing: please dont update your rom too often. I get tempted to download the latest rom :). This is very light and good ROM. We can really enjoy the rom and realize its potential fully if we keep it for long (min 1 or 2 weeks)- my thoughts...
