Heck I uninstalled my AVG to unlock my phone. And no silly virus attacked my system. In between the time I uninstalled AVG and unlocked my phone, then reinstalled AVG. Of course I didn't go to any other sites or do anything else while I was waiting the whole <5 minutes. But I do have this program called Rollback RX installed on my computer, and if some silly virus got to my computer I would just Rollback to my to a previous boot up, before a virus.

it is just a sign of a badly written peice of crap. If you had bothered to run it against some AV you see it it INFECTED with a Trojan; Oh sure they tell you it is the compression. But when you get a bunch of AV's screaming VIRUS, well, just pick up the nearest gun, point it at your head, and pull the trigger; it isn't really loaded!

I love open source sigh

Well if I saw 100 people pick up that gun, pull the trigger and nothing happened except they became very happy, I would probably be willing to do the same. I mean read and read, there are now a LOT of unlocked TP2's out there. And guess what, not one person died or suffered a virus attack. (Unless they went to a porno site while downloading it) And 90% of the people who have had no problems at all, you will never here from again. Because they don't bother to post and say "Thanks a job well done" You don't go to the complaint department in a store and tell the person behind the counter what a great job the store personal are doing, do you? If you do then I commend you, you probably make a lot of folks happy.

HMMMMM, and because people tell me the cool-aid tastes great, I should drink it???????

I have been unlocking and/or reflashing/upgrading WM devices since the Dell Axim days. This peice of crap is like drugs; sure, the first one is free. Try it, you'll like. And then when you "need" again, man your going to have to pay, and pay, and pay. Listen, like I said, if you want to make money from this, I'm fine with it. But when so many users complain about it, can't get their emails answered, and then are told that the ONLY way to get it to work is to jump off a building (turn off your AV and your firewall)......WTF??? I would love the flash my phone, but I really am not that stupid. The product needs to be redesigned, and supported better.

Well you could try it at least. But you are right, in a way. I read elsewhere on this forum that AVG is now destroying ROM's because it thinks there is a virus in it. Sometime virus checkers can get carried away. So is it the developers fault or the Virus checker on overkill? I paid to unlock my replacement phone, but it's only $6 so I really didn't care, I probably would have paid more if needed. But when there is NO competition you can do whatever you darn well please.

I did try. Several times. Keep giving me error msgs about my phone not being connected. WTF??? And as for no competition, I thought there were laws against monopolies?? The price isn't the issue; it's the way they control the program, don't address user problems consistently, ignore emails.Granted this happens to some extant with almost every business, but I make a real effort NOT to suport those engaged in such practices. I'm also fine if they want to keep it closed source; I have many progrmas that are closed sourced; But they WORK, not like this peice of sh*t. NOT going the drink the cool-aid here. USED to be free to make our own choices in the US. Maybe they will pass a law mandating that i HAVE to use the program
