Re: [01-21-10] [ROM] MR.X WM6.5 [Build 21881] [SDConfig]

Ok- been live with test rom since 6pm yesterday.
added cabs via sashimi for:
psshutXP
imnuts no dotted lines
bilbobrian cdma taskbar
lockdevice 1.6
wmmaniac customlockscreen
sms bubbles
arcsoft mr x provided mms fix (excellent!- I tried 2 I had, no good, but mr x posted on page 1 works perfectly)
replyall2reply fix

I've had one single issue, that is nothing. If I choose text messaging icon on slider bar, menu, new, enter phone number then menu, insert (w/6 options) choose picture.... well I'll be damned- was going through the steps and it didn't do it, which means it worked perfectly (basically would insert a c<c in message with no image, then had to select menu, picture (only 2 options shown this time) and it would work that time) however, scratch all this, its fine. (just tested again, no issue- prolly remnants of my other 2 mms cab attempts)

I have nothing to report by way of errors- everything works fine, fast...
took off charger at 645am this morning, I've had about 45 minutes of phone calls, about 40 text messages, email checking 'on arrival', Google maps w/gps for about 20 minutes and I'm at 71% battery at 315pm

Home run X, home run.

Senior Flyers- I needed that about 3 hours ago as I drove into my company yard to do a trailer check and realized it wasnt in the MR X rom... typing trailer number in notes...how primative!

thanks for posting the cab

EDIT: cab installed without issue and required a reset, but system can't find recorder.exe (link says it's in \windows directory, but it wont run...suggestions?

ok MrX ran this bitch overnight with WLM running had a few overseas friends send me bunches of messages while I slept and guess what? NOTHING HAPPENED BUT A FULLY CHARGED WORKING PHONE@!!!!! lol

So that bug seems to be licked my good man.

As for my findings so far.
1. I to am unable to get the weather animation to work with anything other than the stock wallpapers.
Does anyone have the HDwalls app? Never played with that is it easy to use?

2. Sorta silly but if I get a text using the Arcsoft from page one if I DO NOT READ THE TEXT TILL THE BUBBLE DISAPEARS on the manilla tab then when I click to respond to the text the text box does not auto populate instead it highlights the message blue I have to click into the text entry field manually. This used to be a very common bug back with the tp1s

Been running this thing hard and so far everything is sweet... Will report after another couple hours

Hey guys! My mp3s are working fine now miraculously! Still not able to get weather animation working on custom wallpapers. I'm gonna do a clear storage and see what happens.

Re: [01-21-10] [ROM] MR.X WM6.5 [Build 21881] [SDConfig]

Okay so I must say dude, I am really impressed so far. This rom is freakin awesome! I even had to mop up twice! Here are some of my observations so far.

1. Memory leaks - I haven't noticed really any memory leaks. I start out at 49% and even after opening files for 6 hours, Playin Mp3 files for coworkers at work, showin off pics of my girlfriend to the guys and crap like that, I am at 51%. So really no leaks as of so far.

2. Windows messenger - Ran it all night and even had my G-Alarm wake me up in the morning. I had a couple friends that sent me messages through out the night, and had no buggy problems with the program. Everything looked tip top shape.

3. Clock - Looks good in Portrait mode, but for some reason when I go into landscape mode it doubles itself.http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...capedouble.jpg

4. BG4All Cab works great. I have had no problems with the background on all of the pages, and Weather animation works well on the home screen too, both in Portrait and landscape.

5. HDWalls. I am using the earth cab that was made with HDWalls and it works perfectly fine. Weather animations still work using the HDWall app.

6. Sound was a lil quiet, so I had to crank up the volume on external speakers. I am deaf in one ear and gotta have my Tupac, nice and loud!

5. MP3s. Had some volume issues at first with Manila player, but it worked itself out. (Could have been that the first time I used it this morning, I plugged it directly into the stereo in my ride, and if you can tell from the pic above which is in fahrenheit so it could have just been that the speakers were cold too!)

6. Youtube plays well, both in landscape and portrait. I must say, I am impressed that it works flawlessly with no tweaking.

7. I love the slider bar. You should have used it a long time ago. That thing is awesome. Looks so much better than the old one. If ya go back to the old one, I just may have to hunt ya down and hurt ya! lol. Seriously, It looks awesome!

my overall impression is that you are an okay chef but you need ALOT of work. hahahhahahah I only wish I could be half as good as you man. You are one of the best I have ever seen. (Alright, give me a sec to brush off my knees and wipe off my chin now.) This by far is the best creation you have ever made.

AWESOME JOB! Just a lil tweakin maybe on the landscape mode for some reason, but I will get it figured out at some point.

Mr. X is that cold enough or what? lol

I'm still seeing a small memory leak from someplace I do not have much installed starts out at about 45% ends at about 65% after an hour or two

Also here is the latest working version of Acrsoft nice job on this port too maybe you could include this and people could just fill in there info as needed here is the link check it out when you can

After looking at Jmy72 and even D.W.'s pics of the flip clock I see that maybe mine seems to be harder to read then some of the other guys because digits that are supposed to be off still appear too bright- see my pic for a better idea. 11 still seems like 99

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/album.php?...&pictureid=684http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/picture.ph...&pictureid=684

Any idea why the clocks seem to be so different and is there a suggestion on a cab that may switch the clock back to regular flip version if possible? Everything else on this ROM looks great.

update! Landscape clock is fixed now. I guess it was the BG4All Cab that was screwin up the clock. After a dreaded hard reset, and retest, it works fine with every app except for Bg4All Tab. Wierd thing is, even if you uninstall the cab and soft reset, the clock stays screwed up till ya hard reset and dont install it the next time. Now it is running perfectly. I was still able to get my background that I like on all the tabs with the Earth.cab that was done in HDWalls. Animation is working on the home screen even with that HDWall cab installed.

Try running this cab. It works well with the Mr. X Rom. and it will kill the back light of the clock so your time dont look like 99:99 half the time. its the pegasus Modified dusk clock cab. It works well with the rom and is a lil darker than the clock that Jugg is using. sorry juggs, it just works a looks a lil better on the screen. I will admit, the one that came on the ROM is pretty hard to see at times.

Awesome. This now makes the Mr.X experience perfect.

Mr.X, you should look into putting this into your ROM...

second night for some reason has not gone as well as the first night. Having a lot of lockups and freezes to the point that I have to pull the cover off and reset the phone. Guess I am gonna do a hard reset to stock again, run that for a couple days and then rerun yer rom here X. Memory keeps crashing out. I am running it with no add ons or anything right now, but it still locks up. Haven't quite figured out where the problem is, but I will figure it out.

Does your phone not have an accessable reset hole like Sprint's?
I did this modification a few minutes after getting my TP2 - even before unlocking it in preparation for the ROM flashing...

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...t=reset+button

Heck, it's a WM phone, I dunno why they don't make the button easier to access. Sometimes, I use it more then the volume button!

Yeah, the ROM has a nice reset app but when I lock it up, it locks up bad. Besides, I need that reset button to go into boot loader mode too.

Mines freezing without known cause as well after second night of using it. I'm going to let it run some more see if I can track the issue down. One clue I'm following is the new incoming call screen seems to pause after sliding to answer then freezes/ I've noticed after lockup and restart I have missed calls?

thanks for the input, however I have yet to download hdtweak to this ROM.. could be something else I have on mine..I have added Mighty lock, Mightycarbon clock (really like this because I can still tap and get the other clocks--it also cleaned up the digital clock image someone spoke of earlier, briggs audiopara3, psshutxp, brent g. blue sense slider, brent g blue sense slider add on, brent g contacts, music, comm mngr, settings icons ( this all looks awesome combo'd with the X ROM)..I know that you have animation on your home screen (with diff wallpaper)..I have to accomplish that.. Darren, thanks again for the help and thank you X for the ROM..

Odd discovery though. I know that we tell people all the time that a rom, has no affect over the radio signal I gotta say I aint so sure about that anymore. on the stock rom, and the last official mr. x rom I have full signal at my desk. However, the last three time I put the new beta on, my signal dropped down to one bar and stayed there. the second I flash back to the official rom or stock I go back to full signal. So I almost think that the "whiners" may have been correct when they said the rom changes the signal. I know it doesnt change the radio, but perhaps there is a dll file or something that is not letting the phone utilize the radio to its fullest extent. I dunno.
