It's a program that tells you the city & state of the phone number you're calling, or is calling you.
In the Windows\CityID folder there's a program called "CityIDControlApp.exe", if you open that, and click "menu", choose "state", you can select your status. I chose "Subscribed" so there's no more popup, but not sure if it's going to charge me the fee or not. hah Last edited by ajent; 11-09-2009 at 01:54 AM. |

Yeah, gimmicky is a good description. Considering for me it registers my 3 phones my wifes and my brothers as different cities even though we live a block away. Its based on the area code and local code ... but with the cell phones and vonage systems now being able to transfer numbers and pick your own the local city codes can mean anything. Some cell phones that call me show a city that is 50 miles away but they live in my city ... so if its a paid app its usefullness is questionable. -T
