I'm actually trying to make it SOD, but for the life of me I can't (i.e. check email every 5 minutes, load 300+ emails, load 200+ SMS)...

ive said it once and i thought i wasnt going to be tempted to say it again...

Some people say its the Radio, some people say its the HSPL, I am TELLING you its the programs/apps you use.

If you flash to stock (relock then unlock with the LATEST HSPL just to cover all bases here), update profile/prl, then task29, then flash the latest MR Official, let the phone finish setup (and if your on Sprint you will need to manually provision, well not need but there is a high chance that it wont auto prov) then use the phone AS-IS, dont install anything, dont sync old crap, just use it as-is... then let me know if it SOD's on you

I have used an installer (i will dig for my post tomorrow for the .cab) for an old WM6 program i used to use to re-create SOD's on EVERY rom AND radio combo I have tried (which is only 5 total rom's including Mr.X and MR and pretty much every CDMA compatible radio -not WU)

To put simply or comparatively, while some XP applications work in Vista or 7 (even better if they have been updated for compatibility, but not the point here) the OS has changed on a LARGE scale, from WM6 to 6.1, from both to WM6.5 and also small changes to WM6.5.x, the programs may work on the different OS version, but the margin for error is EXPONENTIAL

On the FLIP side (or more in-depth if you will), as I have said its a combination of CPU usage, Memory Usage AND Media Accessing, which theoretically can be fixed by HSPL due to its control of ground level hardware (think BIOS auto over/under clocking + sleep control), but none the less blaming it on a ROM is unfair because each chef (well most of the times) uses a different set of files (different versions most of the time), so if you dont have problems on a different ROM it could be that the file version in use for whatever you are you using your phone for (the programs) are compatible.

EDIT: reading over what I wrote, the difference could be that LEAD could be using older versions of some files

I can't wait until the powers that be get the radio / hpsl issues worked out so we can wave goodby to SOD once and for all.

Best regards,

I always do task29 (and stock flash dance before task29 came out). No programs installed when I did my testing on both; Only activesync and email setup. I actually have a crapload installed on Lead's right now with no SOD. It's just weird that it doesn't happen on Lead's latest ROM.

On all of MM's ROM (disclaimer: on my phone with initial and latest HSPL), manila.exe would cause 100% cpu usage when outlook is checking email. On Lead's, it would only use 3% at most. I also flashed to various radios and MM's latest ROMs would still cause the 100% usage.

Note: While I haven't tried my hands at cooking a ROM, I don't think I'm a noob when it comes to using WM. I've had every HTC Sprint WM phone since the 6700 (apache, mogul, touch, TP1, and now TP2). I'm fully aware that installing a crapload of stuff can make WM run funky. That's why I've always loved MM's ROM for its stock minimalistic approach. Also glad that Lead is taking that approach as well!

Same here, I always use the same programs, and I was having SOD with every rom until I upgraded to the 2.0 HSPL.
Before that I changed my radio as requested by the OP however I was still getting SOD, so if you ask me it is the HSPL.

Is the 2.0 HSPL the one that X is working on? It's not released yet is it? I also wonder if the current HSPL is causing some ROM's to have random hard resets when you soft reset....

Yes it is...I have been testing it with every rom possible since 6/28 and in my opinion the issue has been fixed.

I don't think that it has been released yet.

that right their tells volumes!, but yes the underlying problem seems to be the HSPL COUPLED WITH the software driver/controllers interaction with software apps/programs (im tempted to just say BIOS... since thats basically what it is/functions as), dont know if anyone was effected but remember the old AMD Driver issues... then they blamed it on mainboard BIOS's... well they both issued fix's and never had clock control/sleep/timing issues after that :D

but i cant wait for the new HSPL, gonna put it through my own SOD(omy) testing... muhahahaha

Re: ░░░░ MightyROM.com ░░░░ Windows Phone® ░░░░ Update Available! ░░░░

I unlocked my phone with the first HSPL...when I installed different programs that ran in the bg I got SOD...one being OpMon which changed the carrier text...uninstalled and no longer had the issue...switched radios...VZW1.88, USC2,18, VZW 2.30, VZW 2.35...the only one I haven't had SOD is with the new radio...

I truly believe that there may be variations of SOD, some being outdated programs, timeout issues, or something else...

All I know is MightyROM IS DA BOMB!!!

Then Mr. X ROM...lol

:angry7:...I know my jokes are horrible...:evil4:...

I don't know, perhaps more tests are required.
