Have you by chance tried pressing the power button 3 times repeatedly? Try this and see if it works.

I think that I saw one of the VIP's post that this issue, also known as SOD, was resolved, but I cannot recall what the fix was. Try searching in this forum for SOD and see what you find.

I now remember that it had someting to do with people that imported/restored their call history information. So maybe search this forum for Call History and see what you find.

You might also go to page one of this forum and read the first couple of pages for your answer as a last resort.

If you were to do a clear storage, and not install any programs, or restore email, call history or text messages, do you have the problem?

Here is the link to a possible fix.

No matter how many times I push the power button the screen is dead... frustrating because sometimes even after a soft reset it starts doing it right away. It also happened a few times after hard resets.

All I've read about this issue is anecdotal.

I have yet to experience any issues with Mike's ROMs.

it does it for me every now and then too...if i soft reset then turn the screen off before everything loads.it seems like when the processors heavily used it does it..then all of a sudden as soon as everything loads it comes back on

The only other place I have experienced this is when I go to the notification settings(which searches the widows folder). Very odd. I'd like other's thoughts here.

I've experienced this since day 1 on stock as well as Mighty ROMs. I just assumed it was normal. It's a bit faster with Resco and xTask's FileMan.

Takes a solid 3 minutes if I open the Windows folder over USB Activesync on Win7 x64.

I do not have the notification delay problem you describe.

I haven't done many mods myself for either of the Manila 2.5 ROMs I've used, but when I was with Manila 2.1 and modding a bunch of manila files, I noticed that the more things that I changed, the slower loading the windows directory and also the sounds/notifications got. After I removed them all, things were still slow, but not nearly as bad. Have you done any manila mods by any chance?

Ziggy posted the potential fix, I think it was htcservices.dll that he replaced that stopped the sleep issue. One other thing to look at are any tweaks and programs that you're performing or installing. I would flash to stock, clear storage, flash to MightyROM, clear storage again, and start out fresh. Provision the phone, let it run for a little and then install things one by one, using the phone for 10-15 minutes in between each install and seeing if problems come back. If you get to a point where you're having issues, you've found the culprit.

I also think that just restoring things, call log/text/email/calendar/etc. (if you're doing this), rather than re-syncing them will cause problems as manila will attempt to re-index all of that stuff, and that is likely causing the failure to wake issues.

I'm not sure if others will find this useful or not, but I know the VZW stock roms don't have it included. I found a CAB installer for Clear Storage so you can use it rather than performing a 3-button hard reset if you wish. Keep it on your storage card for easy installation and use when updating/flashing if you go back to stock rather than using Task29

My thought was that since you can't fully overwrite the files that are in ROM, it's essentially duplicating each of the files that are replaced for Manila mods (such as the nice blue/red/etc. themes). I haven't looked at any themes for Manila 2.5, but I know that the blue theme from Lil Rico for Mighty's first rom had ~500 files that it would change, so it just made the system parse through that many more files.

Anyone know if there is a simple registry edit that controls the Wait Cursor image? I have finally found a task bar I like but the wait cursor is the old WM6.1 Pie Section Wait Cursor. I was hoping I could just change a registry entry to point to the WM6.5 4 dot wait cursor instead.

Very true. Plus the fact when a file is deleted and another takes its place, the original ROM file is recreated though it may not be used. If this is the case, back to basic I go then.... ](*,)

Edit: So after scanning the Windows file, it can hold over 370MB of information. There in lies the problem its over 75% full....Too much shiz!

It's part of the shellres.192.dll file. If you want a different wait cursor, you'll have to replace the bitmaps in that file.

And I do not know if there are any problems with the PIN unlocking on this one because I do not use a PIN on my phone. So use at own risk.

It is slow simply because of the manila files. No manila = no lag at all even with windows explorer in windows folder.

And yes, it might get longer if you mod manila files...

Thanks Man!

Here is the entire scoop:

I really like the tsowetaskbar WM6.5, but there is a problem with the battery meter, so I switched to the Spike's taskbar which is the one that right now has the Pie Slice WM6.1 Wait Cursor.

The twowentaskbar WM6.5 cab, has the nice 4 dot wait cursor, but the battery meter goes from 100, 90, 80, 70, 59, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 etc. The image for 60% seems to be missing, and in its place 59% shows.

So the bottom line is two fold. If you could easily figure out why the 60% image is missing from the tsowentaskbar WM6.5 cab, that would give me what I am looking for. If you cannot, then taking the wait cursor from the tsowentaskbar WM6.5 and replacing the Spiketaskbar file will do the trick also.

Thanks again in advance!

PM me if you have specific questions for me.

Thanks for the info guys. I was told before (names have been omitted to protect the innocent) that these themes were merely "skin changes" and would not alter the performance of the ROM. However, after your discussion, I am going to have to agree with you. I have always felt that these themes (although beautiful Purian, please don’t think I am knocking your wonderful work) slowed down my ROM.:( As already stated, "back to basics".

I'm tired..... but it's fun..... he's grown an inch this month, too - he's now 6'8"!! Take a look below at this boy!! lol Guess which one he is ;-)

P.S. Pic was taken with my phone, so, it could've been a better pic, but still not horrible!

Hopefully he won't wind up at some Texas university :( , and will get the opportunity to play for the greatest basketball school ever...KANSAS! Rock Chalk Jayhawk! :headbang: I'll put in a good word with Coach Self. :)

Good luck to your son on his journey. I hope he fulfills his potential. That's all anyone can ask.

EDIT: Still no problems with the ROM since flashing on the 23rd. Impressive as usual.

I will try it out. I should have been clear that I do not run the 1% battery meter .cab. I did not notice any other problems with any of the 10% indicators except for the missing 60%.

Would it be asking too much to also have you change the Spike Cab to have the new wait cursor, since I think that is the more complete task bar?

It loaded fine after install. I have to drive my battery life down another 30% to test out the 59% vs 60% image. I will let you know what happens.

So far: You Tube volume worked with the phone up/down buttons.

Everything seems to be running smooth. I dropped from 70% to 60% now, so I think this is going to work.

What were the other 3 errors you found?

FYI, tjelite took care of the Spike Cab having the WM6.5 Wait cursor, so I am all set.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything regarding this since I didn't want to step on Mike's toes, but it appears that he remains intent on disregarding all Impact posts, so let's settle this matter...

I (as well as Ziggy and several others in this thread who can also chime in on this if they wish) have spoken with Mike directly about Impact within the last few days and I can tell you that Impact is not even in the works right now. Mike's had a few life changes in the last few weeks (don't worry, they're good ones :) ) although I won't go into them since it's not my place (so don't ask!.. respect the boss' privacy), but it's forced him to put ROM cooking on the back burner for the time being. I know there were a lot of requests for it several pages back, but that doesn't mean that it's coming any time soon

If I were you guys, I wouldn't expect an Impact update within a week, or even two or three weeks. I can't speak for Mike since he's the only one that knows what's going on inside his head, but it may be a long time - if ever - before Impact is updated. Ultimately, it's his call only

Don't flame me on this; I'm not trying to ruffle feathers or be a jerk - I got nothin but love for y'all. And this post is not directed at any one person since many have been posting about it, but I figured you guys would appreciate the "behind-the-scenes" info so that we don't get started down a slippery slope with the whole "I bet an update is coming tomorrow" type of speculative talk.

That kind of talk hasn't started yet, and we're just trying to keep it that way :thumbleft:

Thanks and well wishes...hopefully you aren't saying he picked up an Android phone and is going to be cooking for them exclusively...but if it is somehow related to his talents with WinMo and he was able to turn it lucrative no one can hate on that. BTW I know nothing about MM real life I am just wishing the best in his life's journey.

Thanks Eschelon. I was trying to convey that an update wasn't likely coming anytime soon, but without the insight that you have from your more persaonal communications with Mike. Thanks again, its nice to get an update, sure beats my speculation.

Heh, no Android. Don't worry. Poke around this website a little and you'll see that Mike is one of the most pro WP7 people out there. He's looking forward to the next generation of Windows phones with great anticipation ;)

No worries man. I wasn't referring to you. I only quoted your post since it was the most recent about Impact so that people would know what I was talking about. You did absolutely nothing wrong :thumbleft:

that kinda sucks... I know personal life happens all the time, but Mike and no2chem both did the disappearing act, at least Mike has close friends in this thread that can let us know, no2chem, despite saying hed let people know on his blog when stuff happened (or when he had to go do something and would be gone for a while), he didnt...

anyway, Mike great work still, and since from what eschelon says its all good, GLFH

Thanks and Thanked MordyT!

Everything seems to be running smooth. I dropped from 70% to 60% now, so I think this is going to work.

What were the other 3 errors you found?

FYI, tjelite took care of the Spike Cab having the WM6.5 Wait cursor, so I am all set.

Thanks again!

The icons in the cab were...
57
60
58
59
61

When they should have been 57
58
59
60
61

So I fixed them all for those who might use the 1% driver.

You are saying you see the 60 - great. looks like I didn't forget too much then. I just want to patch it for the volume, then I'll make it official...

Just please make sure to let me know if anything stops working...

Turn off the Light is the name of the CAB.

I am unfamilar with how to attach a cab to this forum but would love to know how.

I have honestly been thinking about an app like this for sometime. When I saw the post I got excited because I felt also I press that standby button allot... Thanks Again...

Fear not: Mike's still here. In fact, he was just made an Admin on this site so he probably spends more time on this website than most... He's not going anywhere soon :thumbleft:
