Whats the difference in wm builds. I thought nthing new was coming down the pipeline?

Widget work..? Cool, if you ever want to play with other widgets...i give you the notes widget. The problem is 1 per level. But it would be great to have more on 1 page.the last page of the notes thread on xda explain its just a matter of changing names an such to be its seperate widget. Like a notes 2 widget or to do, shopping list, etc. Are some good names. Its to much for me to get into right now...things are rough for me these days on mutlitple issues...1 reason ill be stepping down from beta testing or flashing in general. Ill be popping in from time to time at least till things settle down and im less stressed.

I still got to say im a fan of your style ireflect. Actually was going to ask for a univeral ocing icon?

Hey what's up sharkie - question : If I purchase an Ipod Touch (latest generation with facetime) , can I tether the sharkierom sprint cdma to connect to the ipod touch and use the Ipod touch for skype / facetime using my unlimited data plan with sprint?

If I am correct, for the ipod touch to work with skype/facetime, it requires a wifi connection (i.e. connected to a wireless point or home wireless router).

What if I am outside away from a wifi connection and want to use the data part - not sure if I am making much sense but hopefully some of it did :)

p.s. - call waiting not signaling is still an issue even on the HTC stock sprint rom which I am temporarily using... it works less than 50% of the time - it may beep once, and that's it - most of the time, I still don't hear a beep and see the random incoming call coming through - ridiculous! I guess I have to cut my losses on that and get back to yours asap. I can uninstall the cookies home tab too and revert to the basic sense right?

Yes, you should be able to use the tp2 as a router for wifi to your ipod touch.

You do need a wifi connection to use any data on an ipod touch.

Cool sharkie, but does the TP2 have to be connected to a wifi router or hotspot FIRST before the Ipod connecting to the TP2?

i.e. can I just walk around on the streets with an ipod connected to the TP2 accessing the regular 3g/EV data? I wanted to use the ipod skype/facetime, but that only works via wifi only. If that can connect to the Tp2 while I am on the go - that's awesome....

So we don't need applications like : "WMWifiRouter" then eh?

Yes, just find your tp2 network once you've enabled the wifi router and connect the ipod to that network and you should be golden. You should be able to use skype and such anywhere you have a cell signal.

Hey Sharkie, good to the thread still going. I recently bought a sero account, so now I'm using my TP2 again. I'm mainly using it as an wifi sharing for my home internet, and I must say that the speed with your sharkie v5.1 is awesome. It's almost 2x faster then what my epic 4g wifi sharing speed is. I'm glad I was able to get another sero account, and use the TP2 with your rom. Your rom is awesome for speed.

what it is your missing is the fact our tp2 will basicly be the hotspot or wifi router...so the tp2 doesnt need to connect to anything, but youll connect your ipod via wifi to your tp2 and thats it. the only concern from here is to keep your ipod and tp2 together for the ipod being connected to data.

Cool - thanks for all the clarifications - just need to get an ipod touch now :) For the meantime, I installed skype - not sure if this is working via data, but it did connect to my wifi that I had the TP2 connect to.

I actually flashed to Sharkie 6.5.X Rom to try it out - uninstalled cookies CHT - so far so good :)

Correct me if I am wrong, but if I am connected to a wifi router/hotspot (wifi enabled-on) - I still should be able to send/receive actual voice calls via sprint with data connection disabled right?

Thanks @Tinkerbell - I wonder how much the battery drains on the TP2 via wifi or tethering - haven't tested the rom out since just I reinstalled it. There was another new thread on the general TP2 forum with an extended battery that looks like a cool option to have.

I uninstalled, opera and replaced with opera Mini and will use UC Web Browser too - removed CHT and the other CHT application that came with sharkie's 6.5.x 5.1 version - definitely increased speed and reduced a bit of lag.

Was there a way to remove the home screen - "RSS Menu" under the clock, and perhaps add it later if I plan on using RSS feeds that way?

My main thoughts with RSS if I did use it was to separately access it via launching it on its own rather than it being fed directly on the home screen display.

Go to /Cabs/Remove RSS Feed. Install the cab. :)

Sharkie - loving the 6.5.X on the first page - this definitely beats the 6.5 version I tried of yours. After removing CHT editor and CHT app - this ROM works great... haven't been able to comment on incoming call waiting alerts yet* BUT - I installed skype and it works perfectly over my wifi - just finally tested it with someone.... going to grab that extended battery from the TP2 General Thread now.

Still need to figure out how to get opera mini to flip using flipit via landscape and also for Sprint Navigation - when playing around with it - as you mentioned it flips everything all over i.e. home screen which can be annoying and probably taxing on the battery maybe....

Has anyone been able to add android to their SD card while on Sharkie ROM for Sprint?

Another option for rotating... you can try Gyrator also from THIS post.

I'm running android about half the time with this ROM as a base. It's not as good for battery, but it's fun to have an alternative and different apps to play with. Another thing with android, the Google Navigation does have the option to auto flip if you want.

Thinking about that battery deal also, want to use it with a couple of the GPS golf apps in android that really drain the battery.

@kozmo - cool... did you install MS .net framework too? I was planning on seeing if I can install gyrator and .net framework to the SD card.

So... I have been on v5.1 for about eight hours plugged in. This Rom is awesome!! I unplugged and went into the other room and it went to sleep. The power button is nonfunctional. Soft reset. Same, the power button on top will not wake or shut down. I am flashing back to a Tinkerbell Rom to make sure I am not having a hardware issue. Anyone else having this problem?

Where is the Verzion TP2 power button located? It was my understanding that it didn't have a power button on top of the phone like the Sprint version, but that you had to use the "endkey" button. Is that correct.

In any event, I don't have that problem and no one else has reported it either. I'm not sure what's up with that. Strange indeed. Sorry Tink.

Thanks for your thoughts Sharkie!! Yes, the Verizon TP2 does have a top power button. Did you remap that button in your v5.1 or leave it? Just wondering what may have happened.

I didn't remap it, but I include psShutXP which should run if you hold down the power button. Quickly pressing the power button should simply turn the display off.

Hey sharkie, just lettin you know that on both xda and here, the sharkie cab skin of my keyboard has the most downloads of the 3 choices Ive put up.

And going back to the color choices we had once discussed, take a look at this

I changed the letter files to have them in white. I think a darker theme skin is still possible, but its still up for discussion. No ones left much feedback on the threads other then a few thank yous here and there.

Sharkie!! Thank you for your response... as it turns out, I am having hardware issues with the power button on my device. It started acting up again today on my Rom too. Anyway, I remapped the power management to another button and am back to testing out v5.1! Thank you again for your hard work here!!

Hey guys - question - In the Comm Manager - wi-fi router option (first time using this new feature) :

What is the difference in the internet connection section :

1. phone as modem?
2. Sprint?

Right now I am connected via my laptop wifi using a 10 digit WEP key to the network name I created. It is showing via Sprint at the moment. In my laptop wifi settings on windows xp - shows connected to network name via security enabled computer-computer.

Am I still able to receive voice calls to the TP2 during this connection?

What happens when an incoming call occurs? i.e. does the wifi signal get disconnected?

Can I place outgoing calls while a device is connected to the TP2? I believe normally - data will cease to work unless I am connecting the TP2 to an actual wifi hotspot.

How man "devices" can connect to the TP2 wi-fi router?

Lastly, does Sprint just recognize/identify this connection as regular "phone data" usage? This is an unlimited data plan.

Yes, your TP2 will put the data connection on hold and reconnect after your call.
Yes, your connection will be put on hold.
Yes, you can place a call, same rules apply.
Not absolutely sure here, but we have had four connected to mine with no problem!!
Yes, they will see it a regular data. Some on Sprint will have to weigh in here, but with Verizon if you exceed 5GB per billing period we may be questioned.

I guess the other questions left related to that was what was :

1. What was the difference between "phone as modem" and "sprint" in the wi-fi router internet connection

2. Can the WEP Key be longer than 10 digits and overall how is the security with this? I've shifted to WPA a while back on my home router.

3. On the Home Screen Tab : (using sharkie v5.1 WM 6.5.X) How can I remove the names of my program icons and just have the icons there only?

4. I have a program and shortcut to it, stored on my SD card that I would like to have placed in the Home Screen quick links - how do I place that.

5. final question : How can I display and create more folders after pressing the "start" menu and placing shortcut links to my SD card for (i.e. pdf's I have, or other programs) in these folders?

@sharkie - I have to still say - this was the best rom switch I have done compared to the 6.5WM version you have - it works really good... battery life is amazing even when connected to wifi. Will keep you posted over time if I run into any bugs, but I have not had to soft reset or see my phone freeze as of yet...

Does anyone have a stock "ezinputs.dll' file?
I need this file to be able to revert my, (and some other peoples phones) keyboards back to black font.

I dont mind reseting my phone but Ive got some people who are trying my keyboard skins that came from the last dinik skin wich has a moddified dll file that changes the letters to white but I cant seem to pull a stock file out.
My phone wont let me for whatever reason.

I never had a problem with update profile in previous versions of SharkieROM but this one isnt cooperating with me. I installed the Sprint provisioning in Carrier Provisioning, restarted, and then selected Update Profile in settings->system. At that point the phone makes me wait a long time and then says: "The profile update cound not be completed... Error code: 1012"

Any ideas? Did I simply forget how to do this? :)

edit: hrm, just realized that I cant make a call either. Something must have gone wrong when I transferred service to this phone.

Hey sharkie, I have a question about your rom. You know when you are using data connection on the stock rom, the top icon shows 2 arrows and signal bars next to it. But when your disconnected from data it looks like a T shape and shows the signal bars next to it. Does your rom have that if you know what I mean?

If you need more info about what I'm talking about let me know.

Also does this rom have a good graphics driver, or will I need to install one by myself?
If it does, what driver does it have?
