Re: 4-24-11-SharkieROM X CE ROMs Up!★SharkieROM v5.0★Generic\Sprint★29007\21916★Sense

what kind of free memory is everyone getting with the x rom. When I loaded the x rom up it looked liked only 75mb free. I was wondering what everyone else is getting.

I noted in my post that memory was higher. I'm not exactly sure why. I've not had a chance to run it for a long time yet. Let me know if anyone starts getting out of memory errors or anything. I didn't think that having CHT cooked in and some widgets would take up that much more space...

What was v5.0's memory at after soft reset?

So far like the look Sharkie. Put it on my girlfriend's TP2 and major stuff is working fine. She works for MS so uses Outlook and Calendar constantly. Always a debate whether to use CHT or not. She likes the extra functionality of notifications on the home screen but it's always been so slow in the past even with overclock. With this new clock and weather it seems faster. Will try it both with and w/o CHT see what she likes better.

I have EVO and it took me a month to get comfortable. Been using MYN's ROM since the beginning and it has been great. Really solid Sense ROM. Still a lot of development going on there. Enjoy it and thanks for keeping the TP2 relevant. She gets a WP7 phone free but no good one's are out from Sprint yet. Will get a review from her in a week on this one...

When I hold end key, I get an error "endkey.exe... cannot be opened... " and if you let the screen turn off with this error on it, the power key wont turn on the phone. You can get it going by sliding the keyboard out and clearing the error. Didn't you use to put in "long press end key"? I like using it to turn off data.

Tested 29019 generic Co0kie, same results. Koz you could always switch to send hold for now. Trying to google. BTW Sharkie it is the not signed with a trusted certificate message.

Dammit. I used to have Comm Mgr set to open by long pressing the end key, but I had changed that at some point and forgot to do something about it, so there's nothing there. I've removed the "end key" package as I felt it wasn't needed.

I've not used a long press end key package since v4.0 I think. I meant to set Comm Mgr. to open via the long press again. You guys can do that or set whatever you want to it, by Keyboard Config, which is how I did it before.

Thanks for point that out guys!

I thought about send, but I thought it was locked to voice command... apparently not :-) thx

Oh yeah, congrats on VIP. Man, you jumped up quick. Last time I looked you were at 18xx.

Yeah, you had Comm mgr set on last ROM and using Keyboard Config worked to change it to disconnect data. On this one, I was having problems with using the single click using "emulate key press" and 35 (end)or 36 (home) like last ROM, but I found the 115 (end call) works fine... same for send key, using 114 (call). After playing around, this is a non issue for me... all is good :toothy10:

Sweet thanks for stopping in! In case you missed the "X" ROM, you might want to skip it due to it's higher memory and your preference for as little memory as is possible in use.

@ Everyone, I know it seems like I'm running full steam ahead with the X version after having put out 8 ROMs, but like I said I'm not. I only put out all the CE ROMs with X because, like I said before, my SharkieROM Standard Kitchen is having problems. When I have time I plan on redoing the Standard kitchen and working from it again.

Any of you who are on the X ROM, let me know how it handles after a day or two of usage. Is the less amount of free memory causing any issues? Any Opera 'out of memory' issues? I agree with someone who said that I feel that Sense seems faster with the new clock and weather widget. I'm not sure why that would be. It seems like there is more going on on the homescreen that would slow it down, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I also have to agree with sense seeming faster. As far as memory issues, I always ditch windows start menu, and replace with MMAppLauncher, OCMan StartMenu Replacement and Arto Start menu Remover. On fresh reset I get 86MB free and 112MB free in SPB... so it's not really an issue for me. That and I'm always messing with something and end up soft resetting to install or remove something.
