slthomas - I have an issue with google maps as well. I have had the issue for most of the ROMs besides stock though. I start GM (google maps) it finds my location using the network within 2600 but won't find an closer. I go into settings in GM select use GPS, even if it is selected already, close settings tab, reopen settings select use GPS again. For some reason it seems the GPS needs to be power cycled before it works. Once I do these couple steps it works like a charm gathering my location usually within 15-30 seconds.

I am using the R4 sprint specific ROM right now.

Thanks for the reply. My issue is the phone network never grabs location - only via GPS satellite. I will try your suggestion though.

Make sure the following is set in the registry. The newer cabs from google do not do this. Create the String values if they do not exist.

I cooked those registry settings in the R4 ROMs already based on Vinn's advice.

Edit: So they are in my kitchen, but I just checked the registry on the phone and it's not there. WTF! :scratch:

Guess I'll have to XML it!

@mwalt - thanks! working like a champ now both GPS and via Verizon.

@Sharkie - I can also confirm Google settings were not in my R4 from last Friday when I installed.
