[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Owner]

change the value for hide from 1 to 0

or

disable manila and enable windows default

1.Go into Today settings, Items tab
2.Enable “Owner Info” while disabling others and tap OK.
3.Enter the Owner Info via the Today screen.
4.After you’re done, adjust back your Today settings accordingly.

And so what happens, is that JD (probably) gets his drops upstream of many others ... before folks complete the build by hex editing the appropriate dsm file to (a) give the illusion of a complete build, or (b) avoid questions regarding an incomplete or out of sync xip/sys.

I only mention this, because most of the other 23569 roms out there have been hex'd at some point so that the xip version matches the sys version. If you are curious and want to confirm, go get the xip sources for 23568 & 23569 and compare ...

1. that is a very hard decision to make, on one hand I alway been more cautious [6.5.3] then curious[6.5.5].

2. but the geeker inside of me say "we are here for the latest and greatest"[6.5.5]

3. but you are the rom engineer and I think you are in favor of the [6.5.3] build.

my answer:
I'm going to be cautious and take your recommendation and vote for the [6.5.3] build.

JD thanks

Is 23120 the 6.5.3 build you are referring too? If so, that is great

Whatever build works for the Master Chef works for me.

2 ?s I have
* is there any way to speed up the transitioning from main manila to all messages in SMS/MMS , to individual Message. The lag kills me all the time. This is my experience with all ROMS, so no stab at this one. Im just throwing it out there to see if JD can resolve for all of us :)

*I'm spoiled with the COM1 windows contact card, with all info on main screen and notes tab. Are there any other COM builds that could have this same layout ? Just curious.

Re: JD's Custom Windows Mobile 6.5.5 ROM

New build will be 23121.6.5.3.6 in this build you will notice bold fonts in the on screen keyboard and phone app ... but these builds are what the OEM's are basing ROMs on at the moment ... I like 6.5.5 but I don't like having to use beta software so with that being said I will post a new ROM between tonight and tomorrow that has the email fix and facebook fixes (Thanks Vin)

i dont know if you have tested that build yet, but i have for 8 hours and it seems to have some serious memory management issues. 4 open apps would have me at 90% memory and after closing the apps with task manager and doing 2 level 3 purges with cleanram i was still in the high 80's. only a soft reset would clear the memory. if you are going to build on that branch i would suggest going with 23120 instead. much better memory management. 4 apps would close with task manager alone and would leave me at 60% and a soft reset would get me in the low 50's after boot.

HERE is the newer fixed ROM based off of the 23121 build .... it has bold fonts in the dialer and on screen keyboard but is in the mainstream builds from msft so less bugs hopefully I may visit 6.5.5 again but I want to wait until msft release a SDK for it

been testing out the new rom for a bit and the memory management issue is there. at boot i am 95mb free. after 2 calls and a few cab installs i am at 75mb free with no tasks running. soft reset brings it back to 95mb free

whats the issue with memory management anyway? If its got 75 mb free, what does this mean? Programs will open up slower? Just curious, i dont know whats the whole dealio with the memory management

Having strange issues with resetting. On the latest (6.5.3) I lost the phone app. Hitting the call button or trying to launch the phone from the start menu did nothing and the signal icon in the taskbar was missing. I reset the phone (with the reset button) and it HARD RESET. The 6.5.5 one from the other day did similar HARD resets.

odd but at the moment we are all on the same rom ... most of the time when i put out a rom i continue to develop until the next rom but since this is my first 653 rom sint the touch pro we are using the same thing i had ran this since it was created and have not had a hard reset issue this mainly happens as a result of an app that borks your registry what do you have installed

Re: JD's Custom Windows Mobile 6.5.3 ROM

When you try dialing a contact by typing the name out, it will not show up in the call history as calling them. This is a recent problem i have noticed in the 231XX series, Icey found a fix for it, maybe talk to him about it, but Tmartin's rom also has this same problem.

this seems normal to me. I have installed the latest rom as well. Pretty much any rom with sense 2.5 is going to be hovering in the 65 -75 mb range. If you start using certain processes and apps, it takes up memory. today I used the camera a good bit and reviewed the pics in htc album. Now that puppy uses alot of resources. Right now I'm sitting at 78mb with nothing open. recently sent a few emails though. Before doing that it was over 82mb. Still very responsive though. Video playback in certain formats can suffer if memory dips below 60mb but I usually switch to titanium when doing this, wait there's no titanium!! oh well :)

i just happened to notice that the memory isnt clearing out like it should when apps are closed. even a ram purge wont restore to pre use levels. where in comparison 23120 seems to release memory when apps are closed with no need to soft reset or do a ram purge.

All I had installed was Slacker Radio. Tried a different ROM - didn't install a thing - and have had the same problems. Now I'm wondering if there's a problem with my hardware. Trying the official Sprint update now to see if it happens with that. If so, it's time to call support to get a new phone!

1 Attachment(s)
Attached is the file needed to re-enable titanium for those that want it .... decided to go back to 6.5.5 seeing how the fix to get the caller id working in the 6.5.3 builds also causes cprog.exe to keep restarting thus causing the memory leak that was there. Going with build 23568 for now it reclaims memory a little better so if all goes well with the uploading a ROM will be posted shortly
