Chris, can you edit this taskbar to put in the correct .dll? When installing this, it puts the double start menu on calls. :( This has a 3G icon instead of Ev, so if you can keep it 3G and still update the .dll I would really appreciate it! :)

Main difference is that this is 6.5.x and the 4/16 is just 6.5. The better one is just of personal preference. For me, I think this is better because I like 6.5.x ROMs.

I guess that I don't understand exactly what the differences are in 6.5.x. I have 6.5 installed and customized and really, really appreciate the amount of effort that Chris has expended on the ROMs including what I am sure was a less than adequate donation for the amount of effort. Obviously there are some cosmetic differences, but would somebody be so kind to list the major functional differences?

6.5.x refers to the system. There are 6.1, 6.5 and 6.5.x ROMs. This is a 6.5.x ROM with Manila 2.5.

Here's some info which should help you with the differences:

I don't know if it is just me or what. I've loaded up the last couple of versions of this rom and haven't installed anything extra or changed anything other than font size and for some reason, after a period of time, I'm no longer to send an SMS through the Windows Mobile messaging. The HTC still works but I often will go to the "All Messages" and then go to a thread and respond to someone. I hit the envelope to send and nothing happens. If I restart the device it starts working again.

Just tested and comfirmed everything is working fine. I have not heard any similar reports so I would try uninstalling the items you mentioned and see if that corrects the problem

Pretty much the only difference is the sys - still has the stock Sprint apps, Manila 2.5 with the Sprint Nav and TV tabs.

Current version seems to have a gap at the top of the HTC com manager. Anyone else see this?

Re: [05/06/10] ★SPRINT LOVER'S 6.5.X★ | Build 28232 | Organization | Speed |

Just checked and I do see that. I think we are going to see some of that because of the change in location of the start bar, etc.

I am interested in how you guys handle open programs. Do you let Windows do its thing or close them as you finish with them using task manager? Seems like the 6.5.x version of windows runs pretty smooth even when things are open, so I am curious. I have been closing each app as I finish with it, but wonder if I need to.

If you read the updates, Chris added the task manager in notifications bar. I don't even worry about open programs anymore. I just let my phone do it's thing. Right now I have like 7 programs running and there is no lag to the phone.

Yep, I knew the task manager was there (although I use arkswitch) but I was curious about letting the phone handle the apps. Thanks.

Sometimes a gap will show, but if you exit out and go back in, the gap will be gone. Sometimes a delay for the position fix to work

I just close mine through taskmanager.

I was just about to say it wasnt working for me either. Great Job. When I get the chance I will send a donation for your hard work.

Also, I use showcase as my taskmanager, with long press send key.

edit: the zoom worked, but now my home tab quick links and soft keys are gone.
2nd edit: rebooted again, and now everything is back. Thanks!

Ok chris, decided to try out your 6.5.X, so far so good. One small thing though, still a graphical error in the menus when not using sense. If I open a menu in file explorer (or any other program), that stretches longer than the screen, the top and bottom of the menu are wider than the middle. Only when sense is turned off (ie. using windows mobile default). I would love to see this fixed as I like to use spb mobile shell and windows mobile default from time to time.

This is also what you reported on the 6.5 builds which were official releases from Microsoft. I am assuming that you are referring to the menu in file explorer while in landscape with Sense turned off. The menus still work just fine they are just a little big for the phone. Unfortunately this is most likely something built into the core of the build and not something I can edit/fix.

Hehe, sorry guys, you know the drill. When I fix something I prefer a cooked version rather than hotfixes (although I will try to release those as well) Yes I did add a few other tweaks along the way

Yes this is what I was referring to. We both know that "official" release was garbage. I thought you may have a fix for it as I have tried some other 6.5.X ROMs and did not see the graphical error. I guess they're using a different system. Of course the other ROMs weren't quite as stable as your ROMs have been.

I am currently running the Sprint Lover's 6.5 Rom published on 4/16, which I am very happy with. Besides for the GUI advantages of the 6.5.x ROM, have users experienced any other key advantages (e.g. Speed)? Further, have users seen any disadvantages in the 6.5.x ROM (e.g. it's not as stable as the 6.5 4/16 release)? Thanks!!

Just noticed that the Help shortcut in the Outlook folder gives an error. The CAB attached below will solve the issue and will install the necessary help files onto the device.

Okay..I looked into the issue and as usual you guys get spoiled. I ended up being able to correct the issue that you mentioned (the pop up menu in Windows Default view within file explorer) as well as also fixed the issue with the overlapping up/down arrow in the phone dialer skin. I will be updating later tonight or early tomorrow morning with the aforementioned items being corrected as well as the included help files (hotfix cab posted earlier today).

Also...if anyone finds any potential problems and/or fixes, do not hesitate to post them so that we can get them incorporated into future releases. (I am currently trying to find one for the incoming call gap)

I got to say, although it's a hassle to reflash when an update comes out, I do like that you cook it fixes to the rom instead of laying bandages over issues.

I agree 100%. I personally prefer a cooked fix over a CAB fix. And as far as people flashing alot...try around 10-15 times per day sometimes when I am testing!

How is everyone's battery life with this ROM vs the 6.5 Sprint Lover's?

For me the 6.5 Sprint Lovers is much better than 6.5.x, though I do believe that is just 6.5.x not anything else. Just curios what others are experiencing.
