I checked the file size aginst the one from XDA and it looked to be the same filesize as the one I uploaded. Notifications have been working for me, but it does disabled the notifications quickbar. (useless other than the zoom from what I can tell). You were using the one that didn't have .orig right?

I can't seem to find out the purpose for the following registry keys though... not sure if they are needed or not.

I did not add the NotificationRes.dll.orig as that file was not needed. The keys above are used in defining the margin locations for the images within the .dll. They are indeed good to have and after doing a mish-mash between your post and what I dug up it seems like it's working great now. I am cooking a fresh rom now and will upload. Here are a two quick screenshots. One showing the new Task Manager shortcut (Thanks again Black88MX6) and also the new theme taskbar.

Chris have you fixed the Data Connection always on issue? Taskbar Data Arrows are always on.

This is normal even with all the stock sprint roms. Only problem I have is that sometimes an application will hang trying to make an external connection even though the connection is already made. There must be some way to prioritize outbound connections, but I have yet to find out how.

For instance, say a connection to "sprint" is already active. I then want to make a "phone as modem" connection. I have to manually terminate the "sprint" connection before a phone as modem connection can be made. I would like to have one connection have a higher priority than another, so that it could terminate a lower level connection automatically.

The data arrows may always show but that does not mean that your phone is actively sending/receiving data. The arrows will change color from dark (inactive) to bright (active) when data is in use. It has been this way since Windows Mobile 6.1.

The new theme is visible in the bottom soft key bar and menu buttons.

I also added the CAB's to the bottom of the 1st post in the thread and a new CAB made today which will disable the Start Menu Icon from the bottom menu.

The keys you sent are all cooked in however I disabled the one key that removes the start menu icon by default. The cab will remove it.

wow, sum kinda reading to get caught up from just last night.

1st ill say love the task mgr in the notifications (even if you dont use it to close tasks but another like sum arkswitch, or me mmtaskmanager) its still nice an sure it'll come in handy, 4 me at least.

2nd i like the new tsk (and the the decsion to keep the start button)

couple things i do wanna mention bout beta2: noticed 2 ms myphone (1 in settings and another in tools) i also was having issues w/ twitter last nite but i just logged on and left it, started to do other stuff and it finally logged on. couple graphical glitchs already listed but not a big deal. couple issues w/ incoming call but couldnt narrow it down (possible not rom related) my incoming txt is 1hr fast to real time (have a sms fix/workaround if any1 needs, i'll post)
-cabs from the other thread that worked 4 me-orginal settings, remove htc shortcuts, disable 1hr2min flip
-i had issues w/ the battery% cab-charging icon stayed in tb even when unplugged, % was not correct (showed battery as really low, but when uninstalled back up to 90. almost as if backwards) an just issues w/ it plugged in2 charger/computer

now i gotta look at the change log to see if there is anything else to make me flash the new rom cuz i just got beta2 set. on another note, how often do these roms get updated (ever couple days, week, etc)

also wanna say THANKS chris 4 barebones stock 6.5.x rom!!! this is exactly wat i been waiting 4 and i do hope you keep it this way :mrgreen:

the only reason i ask cuz i used to flash every update but now im trying to stray from that an only weekly-bi-weekly. but if its there i might bite (kinda llike how a fat kid luvs cake) :mrgreen:

not 2 repeat but any chance 4 cabs to the update, mainly the task manager notification and new tsk (menu slide 2 far right)? just so i can wait 2 flash till a major update comes along

Hi, does anyone know why the reception in any of Chris' ROMs (2.1, 2.5, and this one) is a lot better than any of the other ROMs (MightyROM 2.1, 6.5 (Full Force), Mr. X)? On the other Chefs' ROMs, I get only 2 bars at home; on Chris' ROMs, I get 4 bars! I know Chris' ROMs are designed for Sprint in mind; is there some "secret" ingredient that makes the reception better? Scratching my head...

The icon will show blank like that if your not running the latest NotificationsRes.dll (it gets overwritten) in the windows directory. It can be turned off with the following registry edit. Custom taskbars most likely replace this dll with their own. This is how the latest HTC phones come with 6.5.x roms, so these taskbar mods might need to be reworked some.

Its under Notifications, a quick registry search will find it.

none of the roms will effect the radio (reception) but wat you prolly are seeing is that on other roms maybe the cdma???.dll is different. like sprint has 7 bars stock and verizon/others have 5. so theres your 2 bar difference right there

Yes I realized this and just did a silent update (meaning I reposted the rom with the fixes just no changelog) This was done at 9:00pm EST so if you downloaded before then redownload and youre all set :)

* I also changed the Sprint Lover's visual bookmark to match the new thread banner since I know you all love it so much..lol

On the Internet Tab of Sense..when you visit a webpage it saves a bookmark with a picture snapshot of the site you visited. It is visible in the banner on the first post :)

widgets like MSN Weather, and Pocketnow were able to install in the 5/3 beta, but now they don't in the 5/4 rom :( also I still can't get HTC Peep or HTC youtube app to work since the 5/3 beta rom. Finally HTC Facebook photo album does work, just takes extra long to load the photos compared to 4/16 and previous roms. out side of that this is my fav rom to date, its fast, stable, cutting edge, and has all the stock sprint look and feel that I would want in a 6.5.3 rom :) once the things i'v stated above are addressed it will be perfect imo.

Edit: Can anyone who has downloaded the new upload at 9:00pm tell me if the buttons at the bottom are the same ones as in the Beta2?? I really like the bubbly looking buttons over the buttons that look pushed in already. Thanks in advance.

it has the start & X button (tho i prefer the tweek to remove them) but its not the same as the one from beta2. the pic of how it looks is in the first post now tho...

its just a tsk file tho... if you still have the beta 2 rom installed, just back up the tsk file that you like from that rom so you'll always have it no matter what.
