Re: 6/7/10 V9.3 (23563) CHT1.8 *7 Color Themes with Matching Dialer,XDA_UC
I don't know if it's the answer but maybe a clue. Try using the all carrier version and provision it to Sprint. I don't have a problem with vzw but I use a cab to set up my email and owner information.

Re: 6/7/10 V9.3 (23563) CHT1.8 *7 Color Themes with Matching Dialer,XDA_UC
OK, I did a task29, flashed v9.3, soft reset, provision (no reset), XDA_UC, and reset.
Gonna have to get use to cookie again! Phone works, can receive texts, keyboard is provisioned correctly, favorite key is programable in settings (all good, right). When I tried sending myself a mms, it goes to the "select an account" screen. I select sms/mms and it goes to then inbox. I select "new" then "picture message", and it goes to the draft screen. I can put my number in via contacts but when I go to select a picture there was nothing in the squares including the directories??? I reset twice and the second time it worked. Don't know if this is the rom or the provisioning file but I'll keep an eye on it. I did notice that several screen on MS MyPhone didn't have writing (like white on white) but I just hit continue and sync'd up. I had the memory issue with the camera as well. Soft reset and camera worked. I'm going to try a hard reset and see if it helps. Will report back tomorrow. Edit: I am a bit confused though (SWEIN). I'm assuming in the all carrier version, that XDA_UC doesn't run until after the provisioning. Correct? Edit2: SWEIN - So What Else Is New Edit3: Done with reset first two pages of myphone still white, new MMS process still same but directories showed up first time. Good News " Soft reset and camera worked." Bad News With CHT 1.8 and XDA_UC both taking so long before they finish it's hard to tell. I only flash to provisioning every so often just to check the rom with provisioning to Sprint. I have not check on this rom since I had so much trouble getting CHT to work. The issue with the camera can be one of two different issues. 1 - need to return to the older oem's, the camera was one of 14 changes. 2 - And this what I think the problem is. I don't have a problem with camera, yet several flashing to the sprint rom have. Why not me? I always do several soft resets, one after 1st boot, 2 after I setup email accounts and 3 after I set my phone to my personal taste. By that time I think the camera memory is no longer an issue. I think people head to problem areas they had on the previous flash before giving the phone a chance to get setup fully. So I plan on doing some testing tomorrow or the next. Can you try this for me, next time you flash your phone, try my method with several soft reset then try the camera. What makes this hard to track, what programs do people install after the flash. Since it's my rom everything I want is already in the rom at the time of the flash. Except for personal taste cabs and quicklinks, which is easy since export with CHT 1.6. Keep me posted on what you find out about the VZW. " I'm assuming in the all carrier version, that XDA_UC doesn't run until after the provisioning. Correct?" I am no longer sure when carrier provsioning runs since adding XDA_UC. If it was left up to me only, for my own rom I would leave out the XDA. But I try to run the same rom that I release. How else can I see what the problems are. Cheers, time for bed. Thanks Suntopper for the great feedback you are always giving. Means alot to me! Edit: I have one last question. Why do people use MyPhone when there is a PM Backup program available in the rom. Why backup you contacts to M$ server? Last edited by Timberwolf671; 06-08-2010 at 01:12 AM. |

BigMaxSenseROM-23563-Sprint-6-5b... Very smooth, but I don't like the new format very much. It's dramatically different and I usually like change (hence the flash-aholic). It will take some time getting used to it.
Why do people use MyPhone when there is a PM Backup program available in the rom. Why backup you contacts to M$ server? I used to use PM Backup, but started having errors. Lost contacts and duplicated contacts. I prefer MS MyPhone. I think it does more. |
