If you install Bing v5.1.2010.5040 via ext from a kitchen, after you flash your phone windows will show all those wav files as phone sounds that are in the drop down menu in phone options ring tone!

If you install Bing v5.1.2010.5040 via cab file via the phone, windows does not import the wav files to the phone ringtone directory. and you don't have a 20 to 30 long character named wav file as a ring tone, that doesn't work as a ringtone anyway!

burn bing to a rom from an ext in your kitchen and then check your sound and notification selection.

Just a little more work, it's what I do for my installed ringers so they don't show up twice.

Just rename the .wav files to what's going on below.... (.wav to .wa)

Directory("\Program Files\Bing\audio"):-File("3634cd4e11b1bd74559577b49ed6efae.wav","\Wind ows\3634cd4e11b1bd74559577b49ed6efae.wa")

I would mind a copy of that whenever ya get it done. :)

edit:
That will prevent winmo from picking them up...

Awesome, thanks Rstoy.

I have a question about using EXT packages setup for other kitchens:

I use Icey's version of Calks VK as my main kitchen, but I'm starting to test out the OS Builder kitchen and the OS Kitchen Zero 1.31 beta.

To me it looks like all three use a slightly different setup in their EXT structure.

I'm wondering how to take an EXT meant for Calk's and use it in the other 2 kitchens and vice versa. For instance with the latest 2016 files floating around, none seem to be plug & play for Calks and when I try to cook them in they don't show up on the device.

Let me know if I need to be more clear but my main question is how do you use one EXT and make it usable for all 3 kitchens?

I've still got oskitchen v1.0... I think I've noticed they use a DSM file in their EXT's. I haven't really played with it, but here is a guide going from EVK to OsKitchen. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...91&postcount=3. I'll have to download it and check it out. I'm still a fan of the EVK though...

edit: first glance, osk will add the .dsm files if you just drag-n-drop your older EXT files...

yeah I noticed the DSM, but also EVK seem to have app.dat and often another folder containing more files. I was just curious if I need to pull the files out of the folder and paste them in the same level as the DSM? I'll play with it more, thanks for the insight!

Re: Custom VisualKitchen EXT Request Thread - Get Them HERE!

Ok, I deconstucted, built, added 2.5.2016, flashed etc.

Plus's:
- A little faster deconstructing a .nbh
- Auto recmods certain packages
- built in package creater
- Will use EVK EXT's, adds the .dsm file automatically
--- I put my ext's in:
------ ..\osKitchen Zero v1.31beta3\Sources\Devices\HTC Leo\EXT Packages and create subfolders under that.
- Example:
------ ..\osKitchen Zero v1.31beta3\Sources\Devices\HTC Leo\EXT Packages\Packages_HTC Leo
------ ..\osKitchen Zero v1.31beta3\Sources\Devices\HTC Leo\EXT Packages\Packages_Manila 2.5.2016 t
------ ..\osKitchen Zero v1.31beta3\Sources\Devices\HTC Leo\EXT Packages\Packages_Sense25_zCo0kie

Con's:
- What happened to all the OEM files from the nbh? EDit: rest are merged in to Packages_HTC LEO...
- All those itty-bitty checkboxes....
- All those itty-bitty checkboxes....
- Won't do multiple devices. ie. LEO and TP2 booo...
- All those itty-bitty checkboxes....
- All those itty-bitty checkboxes....
- All those itty-bitty checkboxes....
- All those itty-bitty checkboxes....

Overall, not bad, but I won't switch. :)

ROFL that a decent review I guess can't argue against the pro's or the con's you lay out. EVK is still my standard, but OSK is the hot chick on the side.

OS kitchen is my only kitchen now I am in love with it. It makes my life really easy. I even like the new dsm package priority integration. OS kitchen is definitely worth a try.

What up SBR, I'm slowly getting my footing with OSK. I think I've got everything organized how I want it for now - which turned out to be ALOT easy than it ever was in EVK for me... but I have yet to cook a real fully customized ROM or included any of my specialized EXTs with it so let me not get ahead of myself by giving it too much praise just yet:joker:

The author already has the OEM in his release thread. You have to also cook in mortscript, also there, for it to work. I guess I can help with the OEM--EXT convert, here's the link...

Re: Custom VisualKitchen EXT Request Thread - Get Them HERE!

So I believe I have the newest Slacker Radio EXT in my ROM. When I launch Slacker for the first time it says that there's a mandatory update. It installs a .cab, but I can't find the new .cab anywhere in my files. Anyone have this newest Slacker Radio .cab or EXT? I believe the EXT I use is v1.42 or possibly v1.41. I'm at work and so I can't check my version for sure, and it won't let me do anything in Slacker to check my version without updating it first. I was hoping someone would have already EXT'ed this newest Slacker up...

Please and Thank you! :D

Re: Custom VisualKitchen EXT Request Thread - Get Them HERE!

How about a HTC style volume control package that won't mess with my dialer? I have tried:

-Volume Control 2.2.2012.1229.00(messes with dialer)
-Volume Control 2.2.2014 (messes with dialer)
-SetVolume (I just can't get to work on my TP2) I get a no skin for your resolution error.
-VolumeKeys0.8.0, but of course, no incall volume, so that's a bust...

Any more that I should try? My searches keep leading me back to these.

Is the one I use with my HD2. Historically, I would probably lean towards something quirky with the dialer...

This is one of those... I had to manually deconstruct the cab file. No worries though, try this.

It's been brought to my attention that the facedown auto speaker phone option does not work in my ROM. I also thought that was only a GSM (or more specifically, not a Sprint) thing. Apparently NRG and Vinn and a couple of others have it working in their CDMA ROMs.

In my searching on the matter I kept being lead to that being a part of HTC Straight Talk, but I can't find anywhere to download the package or .cab if it exists.

Do you know if in fact it is a part of HTC Straight Talk or am I headed in the wrong direction?

i think you are going in the wrong direction I have it working in my ROM and i just run the stock dialer from sprint. in a couple of my ROMs the dialer is skinned but not in stock so I would try a stock dialer and see if that works.

Re: Custom VisualKitchen EXT Request Thread - Get Them HERE!

Will try it out. There's nothing that you've done to enable this feature in your ROM? I've been reading more and it looks like you're right about it being a dialer thing.

Sharkie

I just tried with my phone to see if it would work, when I'm on a call if I place the phone down on a flat surface, the little green light on the back of the phone comes on, and I can use it like a speaker phone.

But I think it has something to do with the light sensor also, because when I placed it down the first time it wasn't on a flat and light was hitting the sensor and it would not come on, placing it on a flat nightstand did turn it on, after raising it up in the flat position about 3 inches the light would go off.

So
my guess light, and g sensor.

Also when your in your dialer/menu/options/advanced, is turn speaker on when device is placed face down checked
