Ive been using the 23550 Version 5 since its release and i think that with the removal of Advance Config and HDTweak the rom is now totally rock solid and with the cfc compression i hardly notice any lag at all. Even with all of my custom cabs like; Maxmanila, transparent top curtain, transprent bottom slider with custom blue icons, flip clock disable,and about 12 other cabs installed. Most of the cabs are for just customized looks, but there is also Ninjaduck Opera 10 B3 repack and Bluff My Call, the free version, and the rom is still xtremely fast,no lag,and as stable as a rock.
The only 2 very minor changes ive noticed that i dont like as much are the new CleanRam Config icon and its new location, I like the original icon used and in its original location right next to the Clean Ram icon. i also think the inclusion of G-Config is no longer necessary. BSB Tweaks does everything G-Config does and quite a bit more. BSB Tweaks doesnt have anywhere near the options of Advance Config or HD Tweak but u can change any settings on BSB Tweaks safely without causing any negative side effects at all.
I really like the new icons and pics in the above post. When are they going to be available. The icons look just great. They are definetly a nice change and the icons look great with Maxmanila and the Cookie mod. I didnt know u could run both Maxmanila and the Cookie mod together. It looks very good. Are the icons going to be available thru a cab or are they going to be released in the next rom. Id love to have both the original Start Menu icons and the new Start Menu icons both in cabs so i could switch between the 2 anytime i wanted. I know thats alot to ask but your Start Menu folder icons are among the nicest,cleanest, and most useful start menu FOLDER icons ive ever come across. Thats why id love to have both icon sets in cab form.
Please keep coming out with roms that are Maxmanila compatible because Maxmanila is my favorite look. Or at least until Maxcy updates his maxmanila to be compatible for all roms. Or can it be used on all roms? Ive been using your rom for so long i dont know anymore.
One more thing. The Cricket Provisioning still doesnt work right. I no longer get an error when i use it and it looks like it worked when i use it and it finishes but it doesnt make any changes to the settings. I still have to configure all of the Cricket settings manually. I do know that Ryan Mogul has a Cricket Wap and MMS cab that does work if that helps. Thanks for keeping he updates and new roms coming. I absolutely love em. They are by far the best roms for the TP2. Great work again.
Last thing. Where did u get the analog clock in the picture above? Id like to use it instead of the analog clock that comes with Maxmanila 3.0. Thanks

This is just cookie mod with analog clock. I dont think I will ever cook it in, will probably leave it for the users to install.

I tried installing his cab, but it just wont install. If I can find an installable cab, then I will definetly add to my ROM. Until then, choosing cricket under prov is not going to do anything!:evil4:

Thanks for the info. The new rom is great. Its been the fastest and by far one of the most stable roms ive ever used and it keeps getting better with each new release. I also noticed the 23551 fix cab. What is the 23551 fix cab exactly and why would i need to install it? Oh and my phone says 23550 and not 23551, but i dont care about that. This rom is still light years ahead of every other rom ive tried and i used to try at least 2-3 other roms a week, but i always flash back to this rom within about 1-6 hours. Except for the last few weeks ive just stuck with this rom and only flashed a new rom when this rom was updated. None of the new roms released look like they can even compare. Keep up the extremely great work. I really love the new folder icons and all the new updates and rom releases. Keep em coming, please.

I am trying the ROM again and LOVE everything about it except I can't receive MMS. On verizon netword and yes auto recieve is checked. The icon displays like it is trying to download, it will display several times periodically....it is trying but errors out. Please help as being able to receive mms will make this ROM the best I have tried, and I try about 3 a week :) it's an addiction.

One more issue, after letting phone sit idle for about 15 to 20 mins, it slows to a crawl!, I checked running programs and nothing out of the ordinary? Time to flash dance? anyone else having issue?

Update: takes more like 30mins but slows to crawl and sucks the battery dry! Have not installed anything other than what I have run for past six months on every other rom with no issues? Weird. Using df task manager shows nothing running or chewing up cpu but it is ridiculously slow, have to reboot to fix.

Did flash dance, mms still no go, should it work out of the box or do I need to add ?blahblah=my number? I checked in server settings and Internet is selected, I changed to Verizon and still no go. This is second version of this rom that I can not get working mms....please help.

Ive been using V5 since before the lite version was even available and the sms and facebook and gmail all work for me just the same, but ive never got mms to work on the Cricket network with any HTC ive had. I do usually install NRGs or Valkyries Sense 2.5.2012 SMS cab since i cant get mms anyway.thats probably why i havent noticed any problems, or i just havent recieved all of my sms and dont now it?But im pretty sure its working but im still going to install the fix anyway. Right after i try the lite version5.Just want to compare the speed, stability, and lag(if any) in the lite 5 version.
Is there anyway to open the task mngr taskbar in the HTC Task Manager from the home screen by tapping the upper right hand corner clock. Instead of the upper right hand corner opening the roms default task mngr? If not no big deal the default task mngr works just fine.
Lastly any thoughts on the lite vs.full V5 rom. Is there much of a memory, speed, lag, or any noticeable difference between the 2 roms. Is it even worth i try the lite version. The full version seems to work just fine for me. I downloaded the V5 full release before the lite V5 release was even on the first post. Are there any differences other than the tabs on the lite version? Because i love the full V5 rom now and if the lite version is even faster or has less lag, if thats even possible, than id definetly be intersted in flashing the lite V5, but if the tabs are the only real difference id probably just wait for the next release. are there gonna be any new ROM's released. out of all the ones i've flashed to my phone, this one has turned out to be the best. no SOD, can actually go 2 full days without a charge, and it's just an all around smooth ROM. =D>=D>=D> love it!!!

Sure did, I downloaded the lite version also and have the same two issues. No MMS and after approx 30 minutes idle, slows to a crawl and drains battery like crazy, phone actually gets hot! Guess I'll wait to try next version, shame cuz graphically this is may favorite...can't really comment on much more couldn't use it long enough to tell :(.

I don't get it either, ran v4 with no problems and I have ran ENERGY, BIGNaDAD and MRX roms all today with no problem, V5 has just been killing me. I see V6, will grab and report back.

Im downloading V6 right now. It looks like all the changes and tweaks u made should make for an even better rom, if thats even possible now. The only other rom that i think might challenge it is the anticipated maxsense rom release. But who knows. As of now and the past cpl months this rom and every version ive used have always been the leading edge in WM 6.5.X Sense 2.5 roms for the TP2. Maxsense is going to have to be just as flawless and more amazing than this rom before ill even think about a change.
I cant wait to give V6 a try. Ive had the best experience with V5 that its gonna be hard to beat. But the listed changes in V6 sound like the rom is still getting even better and more refined yet. V5 had great batterylife for me, after a full 24 hours i still had between %50-%75 battery life left. Depending on how i used the phone that day. But a full battery would last 36-48 hours easy. Its the best battery life ive ever gotten on any Sense 2.5 rom by far. Most other roms would only get about 24 hours, and sometimes not even that.
My V6 download is just about done so im gonna start to flash V6. Ill report back and tell u what i think and how well everything works on Cricket.
P.S. theres one program that i would like to see in the GPS folder tho and thats the HTC GPS Tool. That is one GPS app that i install on every rom that i use. I always have to have Quick GPS,which is already included, and the HTC GPS Tool. The HTC GPS Tool makes getting an initial GPS satellite lock extremely fast when its used. Quick GPS does a good job by itself but when u couple Quick GPS with the HTC GPS Tool i can get a GPS lock on Google Maps in seconds.I can also get a solid GPS lock on the Amaze GPS app. Just a thought. I know that id like it at least and i wouldnt have to install my HTC GPS Tool cab everytime and then move it into the GPS folder so i keep the extremely clean look. V6 just finished downloading. Flashing now. I will report back later. Thanks for the new V6 release and all the other releases and help/support for the rom. Keep up the excellent work.

Cricket prov still doesnt work. I am still looking for a cab for ya.

I will check into HTC GPS Tool. Although I do think GPS Test does the same thing....I am not too sure.


To ALL, if you dont like MMtskmgr, disable it, and install my HTC tskmgr from post 4.

EDIT: Attaching HTC GPS tool. That installs shortcut to GPS folder. Try this and let me know if it works.

quick sidenote.

MMTaskManager is a major battery drain. it runs in the startup folder too. disable it and remove it. this was my experience from energyrom. people complained like 10 pages about battery and this is th culprit

I flashed it last night on my new TP2.. Great rom.. I had 80 % battery life.. I got 70% battery life. Is that normal ?

Well still no go on MMS for Verizon. When receive first mms, I get an envelope icon on task bar, it says something to the effect that it will have to stop current connection to start new one to dl mms (provisioning problem). I check setting in mms and the connection is set for "The Internet" rather than "Verizon Wireless". I change to correct connection setting, envelope does not appear anymore but the mms dl icon comes up momentarily and then disappear with no mms download, it is trying but erroring out. This is so frustrating, this is the only rom that I simply cannot get mms working and is the single reason I don't use it. I also believe me slowing and battery drain is the constant trying to dl the mms? Any help would be appreciated.

Data works but just not MMS? I changed some drivers from V3 to v4 and maybe that caused it?? I will do some digging this weekend...

OK progress!!!! I now have working MMS! I had to install imnuts verizon mms, go to mms options and change connection setting to "Verizon Wireless" defaults to "The Internet". Do this for both CDMA and GSM servers, then delete the extra Verizon Wireless profile and bang...it worked! Weird though because all other current roms mms works out of the box. Anyhow I am gald to have it working and so far no slow downs or battery drains..keeping fingers crossed! I am liking this ROM alot so far will keep you posted.

Glad you got it to work, but thats nuts! I guess the problem might be with the Arcsoft MMS. Will see if I can replace it in the next release.

Well back with bad news, just slowed to a crawl again and battery is draining like crazy...bummer.

That is all I installed on this version for testing....I don't get it have NEVER had this issue, and I install on average 3 roms a week!

Not 100% sure yet, need further testing but about 95% sure I figured out the problem. It's the 1% battery driver! Switched back to original and so far no slow downs or battery drain....more to come.

I dont get autolock. But I am sure there is a reg for it. But I didnt mess with it in my kitchen.

thanks for the HTC GPS Tool cab. The cab i have for it is extremely old but i think its probably the same, but mine doesnt automatically install to the GPS folder. I have to cut and paste or copy and paste it there.
Also ive been meaning to ask if u have ever got the new folder icons cabd up yet. Id really like to give those a shot. See if i like the look of the new folder icons or not. I really like what ive seen of them so far.
Provisioning for Cricket still doesnt work yet, but thats ok by me because it only takes me about 5 minutes to setup evrything anyway. Im just glad the rom is so compatible with Cricket service. The only cab for WAP, MMS, and Arcsoft for Cricket ive used that works so far is one by Ryan Mogul. Im pretty sure its just labeled Ryan Moguls Cricket wap, mms, and Arcsoft cab. But even with that cab mms still doesnt work. The Ryan Mogul Cricket cab only works for the wap setup for me tho. It did work on both the Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2 for the wap settings.
As for the MM Task Mngr it seems to work just fine on my T.Pro2 with ur rom. I cant speak for how it works on NRGs roms but it works just fine on ur rom. Ive had my phone off the charger now for 12 hours and i still have %89 left. Great battery life, just like ur other roms, but i dont use ur %1 battery driver, but when i did use it it workd fine for me. Ill try it again and see if it affects battery life.
I dont understand why theres a very small group of people that cant get this rom to function correctly but say that every other rom works fine for them. Ive tried virtually every rom on ppcgeeks at one time or another and this rom is by far one fo the easiest WM 6.5.X Sense 2.5 roms to configure. I think that its more likely that some users either dont flash their devices properly, install cabs,files,or programs that break the device, or just dont know how to configure their devices properly. Ive been using this as my main rom since its beta stages and it still keeps getting better with each new release. Thanks for the hard work. and if u ever get the time id really like to give those folder icons a try. Thanks again for everything.
