Re: RELEASED!***3-6-10***Generic Carrier-ROM&KITCHEN-Baseline001-23541/Titanium

nice n stable rom. I'm trying this since MalRom went silent.

one suggestion.. strong focus on Titanium will definitely make ur rom stand out in the bunch. make it look more like the Zune UI, similar fonts etc.

1 request - pls. include a location aware weather panel for the titanium to show on the home screen.

Go into the customize folder in the start menu, run rz_multifont. It is a script I wrote to change titanium fonts, I have included several. I do not know what the Zune UI looks like, but try Segoe UI, Helevetica, etc. I will not include titaniumweather because it never really works, plus it is a huge memory hog. If you know of any other location aware weather panel for titanium I would be definitely willing to test it out. I loved titaniumweather but after a few weeks, it just always stopped working, and hard reset was needed. Not cool with me. I like my phone to go and go and not need to be reset

I have not tried opera mini, is it better than 9.7? As long as it stores its bookmarks in the same file as opera 9.7, the favorites import should work fine. The actual launcher though is done in registry:

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Opera]
"GUID"="{F0A1B246-6E64-40cd-8E15-347D29FF6F18}"
"Layout"="Opera"
"LocName"="Opera"
"DataSource"="SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\CHome\\Opera"
"Pages"="Page1"
"Updated"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Opera\Page1]
"Name"="Favorites"
"URL"="Import your favorites from Opera"
"SK2TEXT"="Import"
"Icon"="\\Windows\\Blank.png"
"ACTIONURL"="\\Windows\\OperaL.exe"
"SK2URL"="\\Windows\\Opera9\\opera9.mscr"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Opera\CondensedPage]
"PluginLabel"="favorites"
you can probably just try to update the actionurl entry to point to opera mini?

EDIT: I just downloaded opera mini.. trying it now. If it is faster and lighter than opera mobile, then I will say goodbye to opera mobile. I am all about small, fast programs.

EDIT 2: Running opera mini now, its pretty cool. I don't do a lot of web browsing on my phone so its perfect for me. About all I use it for web-wise is reading bash.org when I am bored, and occasionally for quick google searches, etc. I definitely would replace opera mobile with this. making the favorites import work though is not going to be as easy as expected...

Re: RELEASED!***3-6-10***Generic Carrier-ROM&KITCHEN-Baseline001-23541/Titanium

opera mini just does not have the ability to be passed a website to load as opera mobile does. This is not really a big deal to me, but it does make the opera panel useless. opera mini is very fast. about twice as fast to load as opera mobile. For now I will be removing the opera panel and opera mobile, running like that for a while and seeing what I think of it.

Re: RELEASED!***3-6-10***Generic Carrier-ROM&KITCHEN-Baseline001-23541/Titanium

Ok liking the ROM so far, also had to run the Verizon keyboard cab that was from Mighty i believe. An option for Weather panel though not GPS based is the one found in the Home Screen Customizer app in the marketplace. It has never caused me troubles but it comes up as left orientated. That app is also very nice but doesnt have quite as many panels as the one included.

Also when I receive a txt message and open it through the lockscreen it brings it up as a single message (ie. not threaded). Anyway you can change it to open up the threaded message? Thanks

Glad u liked it. I think mini can definitely replace mobile opera for 99% of browsing needs. only if there is a way to play flash on it.

thanks for the info, I will try that out. SMS threading should not be a big deal either.
