questions on 6.5

On a recommendation from Darren, I installed Mr X over a stock sprint 6.1 tp2. I like the way everything looks but I am having some problems with installation of some of the cabs. Going from stock 6.1 to 6.5 is a big jump for me. I installed the Mr X 3x5 start menu cab and assume it was 5 rows of 3 icons on the first screen. The cab installed and reset but I could find where to go from there. I still have 3x3 tabs. This is probably simple stuff but when you start from zero like me, it is a daunting task.
A little help with clock changes would be appreciate also.
Thanks

If you go into setting and change text message from threaded to classic you can delete individual ones if there are some you want to keep.

No custom stuff, only thing I really added was LockDevicev1.6 but I think it was doing it before I added that. What is your '3 file setup', I am having trouble finding it.

You don't want the 3 file set up, it's for deactivating 2.5 mms but there isn't 2.5 on here so it's not needed.

The cab for 3x5 is for the start menu, but I think you're referring to the quicklinks. That cab makes it from the smaller start menu icons (when you click in the upper L hand corner of the screen the start menu comes up.) What changes do you want for the clock? There's a bunch in this thread, if you can show which one you want, we'll give you instructions, i.e. juggs clock array, Santod's array w/ quick links, just a basic flip clock, etc?

You are correct in that I was trying to get more quicklinks on my first page. I found in post 1179 a cab for 16 links and another cab for a clock and another cab that I do not know what it is. Can I install the 16 quick link cab and the clock cab and have the result of 16 quick links and a new clock or are there other steps involved? Will my animated screen still work if I install these cabs. How do i change back if they don't work. I like the rom and I don't want to screw up what I have now.

Some of the 16 links cabs don't uninstall completely without some funky work arounds. I think the cabs Darren posted in that post were for the dusk theme. I'm currently on the dusk theme which is shown on post 1176 and the instructions on how to get that are one this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=1189. There are some other theme clocks in the thread and most of them will play nice with Santods quick links (which are in his thread in the themes section) as long as there is not a clock array (meaning you can have analog, digital or both clocks showing). Let me know if this helps or if you need more assistance. You should still be able to use animated weather also, and most times you would just need to install the clock cab and the quicklinks cab, but not always.

Edit: I just went back again and looked, if you use the R6 cab that Darren posted it will give you 16 quick links and the osrix cab will give you a nice looking digital clock, you can also make mods to clean up your screen by removing the calendar background, clock background, etc, but the dusk theme, the first cab I believe, will not play nice with the R6 cab and will cause problems on your screen, unless Darren changed the name on the fix that Santod made. If you want the dusk theme like I have, follow the instructions I noted above as I know that works.

What exactly are you doing when it freezes. There's plenty of people in here not having issues of that sort.
