So I don't lead you astray...the amount of bars you see is dependent on the type of tsk dll the thread starter chose to use. Some task bars display a full signal at 5 bars while others display a full signal at 7 bars. If this rom uses the 5 bar tsk.dll then your signal will show as being 1-2 bars weaker when in reality it isn't. If it was as 7 bar display for full bars then it would show a relatively stronger signal 1-2 bars. The end result is you are getting the same signal strength from the radio you are using whether you are using a sprint stock rom or the threadstarters rom with the same radio...the displaying of the signal could be misleading. I am not saying don't try a different radio, just saying the rom is not going to casue a weaker signal. I can guarantee you the signal strength is the same, it just doesn't look like it

OK, this is anecdotal as Hell, but I tested earlier and got 2 bars. Flashed to stock and went to the same spot and got all 5 bars. Proof of nothing. With no evidence of dropped calls or data problems this is not meant to even be an "issue". Just wanted to follow up. Anyway, need to flash today's version.

The signal strenth indicator is determined by changing the registry key:

[HKCU\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction\CDMA] "SignalStrengthLevel"

The default value is 5. Changing it to 7 will give you the old 7-bar signal icon (discussed on page 28 Post# 276). This rom uses the stock Windows Mobile 6.5 taskbar, and I have never heard of nor is there a file contained in the rom called tsk.dll. The signal strength icons are contained in CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll. The radio version in the stock ROM and the Sprint Lover's ROM are the same and can be viewed using the ##778# code. Just FYI

Also - I can literally move one foot within my home and see a difference in cellular strength. I am sure if I was walking through my home with a radio playing music it would do the same. It doesn't mean anything other than there are different strength levels whereever you are standing and I am sure many factors can affect that.

Great info Chris,...(On the signal strength).
I should know this but here's a noob question,
I have Dusk theme installed...how do I stop the weather animation in home screen? I know with a wallpaper I can change the dword to 2. But I'm not using a wallpaper but the Dusk background itself and I dont get the option of changing the dword. Can someone remind me how to do this?

Yep, I was aware that the radio was stock. That is what made me suspect something was up with my phone. Thought maybe my antennae was going or something. Is it possible the either stock Sprint ROM or WinMo 6.1 polls for the signal more often? Maybe this is just catching the signal when it fluctuates up and displaying it. Irrelevant either way, it just got my curiosity up.

Found the solution for disabling the Home Screen weather animation on manila 2.1:

Hi to all, after reading so many threads I found a way to disable weather animation without changing home backround:
you have to change this registry setting:
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila/HomeBackgroundPath set to empty value and you have to create following string value:
HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila/defaulthomebackgroundpath set to 0.
Hope this will help someone.
Have a good day.

Loving the last build Chris. I've been running smooth for the last day and a half. Youtube works, opera slider works, activesync works, facebook contacts work. Everything so far just works. Haven't had a mms message in a few days but I'll assume it works because it worked in every other build. Now I guess I'll have to just wait and see if sprint releases a 2.5 ROM, lol!
