Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
you cant upgrade the radio without having the sim unlocked, which you have to pay for, so you wouldnt do it unless you had a reason to. So no, theres no reason for you to upgrade unless you plan to use gsm towers.

I answered my own question, by taking the leap and purchasing the unlock software from olipro. Went through the unlock process, and flashed to 2.2300WU just fine. Will test new radio for the problems other people are raising, but I have a feeling everything will be working just fine. |
Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
I think I got my question(s) answered by reading. So if want to use GSM networks, I need to have my SIM card activated before using that unlocker, right?

I am on VZW, but all I do is go into my Verizon Wireless data connection settings, and 1. Add a new modem 2. Name = MediaNet 3. Select modem = Cellular Line GPRS/3G 4. Access Point Name = wap.cingular Press next and finish, no username or password. Should default to auto-select modem. FYI - #777 is the VZW modem connection. |
Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
Hi all,
I have a question, can I use RhodiumW 2.23.00WU for my Sprint TP2 or is it just for Verizon? Thanks for your insights |

2. if you are on a CDMA call, the phone is on a CDMA network, and NOT on a GSM network, therefore if you get a call on your GSM number, that call will go straight to voicemail 3. the Sprint SIM is for international "Sprint GSM" towers, it does nothing in the USA. hope that helps.... |
Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
didn't have a problem with the 1.96.00, but flashed the 1.96.10wu anyways. good job olipro, no more switching to manual! it works on automatic.

Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
When running the 2.23.00WU.exe updater, fails at 100% with Error [290]: Invalid Command the update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone.
Won't get past the SPL-1.00 boot loader. Was able to re-flash using the Verizon MR1/ 6.5 update and now have the latest VZW radio. Phone was originally unlocked using the RhodiumW Unlocker and then updated the radio using the Verizon MR1/ 6.5 update, so it was already at the latest Verizon radio before applying the 2.23.00WU.exe updater. Been having issues with the phone locking since applying the MR1 (radio) update and using Energy ROM's. Thought I'd try Olipro's radio update to see if it helps. Any ideas on the above error? |

Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
I originally used Olipro's SIM/CID to unlock the phone. So the phone was unlocked when the error occurred.
Wasn't sure if applying the Verizon MR1 update caused problems, so I re-ran Olipro's unlocker to reflash their original unlocked radio rom (2.05??). Then tried running 2.23.00WU.exe again with the same error at 100% and the phone get's stuck at the boot loader. Was able to get the phone past the boot loader by re-flashing the MR1 rom and then re-flashing a Energy ROM. |

the ROM is irrelevant, you must be SECURITY UNLOCKED. |
Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
how can you tell if your security unlocked I bought it did the hole thing downloaded the radio and still stuck in boot loader mode? how do you get out of it or did brick my phone? I have taken the battery in and out many time and still stuck in bootloader. I must have did something wrong when i unlock i must have not did something right at the end..

Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
what does your radio say now? if it has "wu", it's unlocked.

Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
I have a VZW phone. had it SIM unlocked by using the unlock code.
Do i still need to follow any additional steps before i can flash the 2.23.00WU radio? Should i even bother with the newer radio? since the device will be used in India. my current radio version is 2.23.00WV Thanks |
Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
I just ran the unlocker again and it said it was successfully unlock so I checked my radio and again it says 2.05.00wv... I give up or I got tooken for 25dollars
|
Re: RhodiumW 2.23.00WU/1.96.10WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks
if there is a "wv" or "wf", you are not unlocked. it should say "wu". if you're not unlocked but paid, run the steps again. make sure after each step to check wmdc or activesync for a connection.

absolutely incorrect. I just did it with the MR X Rom installed. You just have to make sure that you have your sim card installed, Make sure that you are set on GSM Mode, and run it. It runs fine. Only part I am unsure of, is whether or not you HAVE to flash a radio afterwards. I did, After all was said and done, I ran the 2.23.00 Radio exe and put that WU radio on my phone. once I rebooted, it tuned right in to the TMobile signal and worked right away. However, I noticed on a side note, that when you reboot the phone now, it doesn't show the ROM, RADIO, status, like it used to when the TouchPro 2 screen is up. But, It works, so I figure, if it aint broke, don't fix it. Just kinda curious why that went away. |

I can see the Olipro boot loader and then the grey screen for flashing, then boot loader again where it hung. Looks like after the error, it was stuck going into the RUU loader to reflash the radio and hangs. The radio was previously HSPL and security unlocked and have been flashing other Radios and ROM's. Also, was using my AT&T SIM. Before the error the Verizon TP2 was reflashed with the Verizon MR1 update to get the Verizon 2.23 radio. Then reflashed with the latest Energy ROM. Had many problems with the phone locking and thought I'd try Olipro's 2.23 update over the Verizon official MR1 applied 2.23 update Prior to the Verizon MR1 update I had the USC 2.05 from Olipro's radio unlocker and used various ROMs. Was able to flash a different USC radio version to the Radio to get the phone past the boot loader hang. Then I re-applied the HSPL and original sercurity unlocker. Then was able to sucessfully re-run Olipro's 2.23 radio update. TP2 is now working with Olipro's 2.23 update and the latest Energy ROM. Regarding the update error and the boot loader hang, I'm thinking the Verizon MR1 radio update was causing issues with Olipro's update and the custom ROM's I was using. |

you must donate, download, and run "RhodiumWUnlocker.exe" and make sure you check the checkbox that says "Security Unlock" when you unlock the SIM. |

Wow, thought we were here to help people not beat them up when they make mistakes. Oh I forgot you guys are freakin perfect right. hmmph. I retract my previous post. My interpretation of the person asking the question was reguarding unlocking the phone. You guys need to lighten up a bit. Go get laid or something. Wow.
