The problem I had is nobody mentioned that the previous radios for the unlocked SIM didn't work right on the ATT or Tmobile networks, it would constantly drop calls when you set it to manual. That was the whole point of unlocking the sim in the first place.

There have been very few radios patched & released for Sprint. Glad to see another.

However I never noticed a problem when using AT&T Networks (havent tried t-mobiles),

Don't be too hard on him dude. After all remember, The SIM Unlocker is not free and requires you to pay for it. I don't think I see anything wrong with someone asking questions about something before he pays hard earned money for it.

I don't use data, but voice, texts are working on my sprint tp2 now, using MalROM and the latest Radio.

it *IS* instant, however, if PayPal/Google decide to investigate your transaction before allowing it then it will take longer.

Generally speaking it's pretty rare (unless it's your first purchase with them) but they will do it if there's anything that makes them suspect fraud.

I've now made a 1.96.10WU radio on the first post - if you have 2.23.00 then DO NOT get this radio, the ONLY people who might want this radio are those on 1.96.00 who don't want to upgrade to a new radio.

to summarise, 1.96.10WU is ALMOST IDENTICAL to 1.96.00WU except it has NO problems with connecting and keeping a connection - if your device is on 1.96.00WU then there is NO reason not to flash this radio.

nonetheless, if you are choosing a radio, 2.23.00WU is ALWAYS recommended.

Need Help. Every time after I run this radio update it gives me error, saying it is wrong utility…it runs all the way to 100% and then gives me that error and locks my phone on a 4 color screen…the only way to get it back is to flash from PC again….

Any ideas, please?

one thing i found out is that after each step, you get disconnected from either activesync or wmdc. you might have to manually reconnect after each step. try it and report back.

I'm using a sprint tp2 and flashed the 2.23.00WU radio. Since then, my phone gets warm, the battery drains quickly, and the phone freezes at times. Would flashing the 1.96.10WU radio resolve these issues? Thanks!

Will the radio dl allow my verizon tp2 which is unlocked to send mms on att? Currently I have switched the phone to gsm only since i only use att and I have input the data settings and can use the internet etc but cannot get the mms settings to change, they are locked. Will this radio automatically set the mms for att or allow me to custom change the mms settings to att?

if you set it to Global, it connects to CDMA first.

if you set it to CDMA, it only connects to CDMA (duh)

if you set it to GSM Only, well fúck me, it will only connect to GSM.

you have to feed it the settings, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to change it... if that is the case, change ROMs.

So I gave this a test drive for a couple of minutes with the new radio and it seems pretty flawless. I just stuck in my friends post paid sim card, switched to GSM and detected ATT automatically, and didnt even have to do anything to pick up data it was just working and picking up on Edge which didnt seem to slow.

Oh shit. Nice. Didn't need settings for ATT. I'm about to switch right now.

If you guys are having trouble getting data b/c it keeps dialing #777, switch roms. I had a rom that would keep on defaulting to that no matter how many times I deleted that profile. Switched roms and I could change connections at will.

Okay, looks like my stupidity has really shown through. I assumed the wink was a hint that Olipro was being sarcastic about the carrier unlock having nothing to do with this whole process. So I went about calling VZW to have my SIM slot unlocked, and checked to make sure it says your phone is SIM unlocked. I proceeded to flash the radio to the one provided in the first post. Too my dismay, it returned an error and was stuck in bootloader mode. I went aout flashing the stock 2.23 radio which fixed that problem. But my question is, will purchasing the SIM unlocker through the website in the first post and re-flashing to 2.23.00WU work if I've already SIM unlocked my phone?

Flashing the 1.96.10WU radio resolved everything. Thanks! My phone is as cool as the other side of the pillow, there's no freezing, and my battery has lasted all day. I can connect to the Edge network and the phone automatically detects the AT&T network. Everyone continues to sing your praises and I'm joining right along with them. Thanks again!

May be an issue with the 2.23WU radio and VZW. I flash ROMs regularly with little issue. Recently I flashed to the 2.23WU radio and then flashed a ROM from Calk Kitchen 1.4 and got PPP Connection Error 11, and no VZW data. Finally found solution in the forums and called VZW tech support. Had to disconnect my phone from the network, and reconnect. Once the phone was working again I flashed the 2.23WU radio again and had no issues. Flashed Calk ROM again and lost data again. I just got my phone working again with 2.23WV radio and flashed Calk ROM with no issues.

Anyone else even try to do this?

So that I understand this thread, if I never use the SIM card on my TP2 (and this is a Sprint TP2), I don't need to upgrade the radio to 2.23?
