I would like to know if your Sprint TP2 with Radio 1.96.00WF can update to Radio 2.23.00WU without problems

- If the Radio 1.96.00WF is working fine...Do I need to update anyway?

- What does WU and WF means? (2.23.00WU & 1.96.00WF)

- What are the benefits for the new Radio 2.23.00WU?

these radios are for use with the unlocked tp2s. you must 1st purchase the unlocker, or you will not be able to use these radios. the unlocker plus one of these radios allows a cdma tp2 to use gsm networks here in the united states.

Thanks for your reply...that's why my TP2 doesn't work with gsm network (Telcel) in USA...my TP2 has Radio 1.96.00WF.

the 2.23 and 1.96.10wu are radios that let you use gsm networks. the 2.23.00wu is the preferred radio for those with custom roms, or for those whose signal dropped while in gsm mode. the 1.96.10wu is for those who has a stock rom. you can use either one, but remember that you must be security unlocked before trying any of these radios, or you will get an error message while trying to flash them.

So how is everyone receiving texts from their GSM line when they are on the CDMA network? Is this possible? I just purchased it on Olipro's website, and I like it so far, except for that one issue...

you can't be in both modes at the same time. my gsm texts show up as soon as i switch to that mode.

OK, thanks for the reply. For some reason mine don't work that way. For example, if I am in CDMA mode, and someone sends me an SMS at 10 AM, if I then go to GSM mode at 11 AM, I will not get the txt. If I am in GSM the following day at 10 AM, it will arrive then.

Thanks for your support...I ran Rhodium SIM Unlocker in my TP2 and then I updated the Radio to 2.23.00WU...like to have GSM Networks in USA...and let me check the other benefits.

ok let me get this right before i f*** something up.
1. use the sim/cid unlocker
2. run the hspl unlocker
3. flash the new radio.
what if the sim is factory unlocked.
let me guess, run both because the secuerity is not unlocked. im on us cellular if that make any differece

look at your radio (settings>system>device information). if it is a "WF" or "WV" behind the numbers, it is locked.
