If it's unlocked, your bootloader version should be SPL-1.00.OliNex, look for that in the tri-colored screen (end/off + volume down + reset, release reset while holding the other two down).

On my VZW TP2, I just hold the volume down and red end call button at the same time until the bootloader pops up.

Your way only works if your phone is off first.

I compiled the Radio Rom for you guys and put it into an RUU folder like in the radio thread.
I tested the radio by renaming to RHODIMG and flashing from the SD card. I can verify that it works and doesn't hard reset you device. I have not tested from the RUU, but it should be fine.

I seriously hope that this fixes the issue of dropping to 1X. From my communications with VZW, the problem has been pointed at the radio ROM. I guess we will find out!
