@corynat, thats a good find on the GSM dialer thing. So here's my thoughts on that, a good working CDMA dialer is a hard thing to come by actually. What's in there now is the huashuan dialer. Someone else suggested use a HTC dialer, well all the ones I use are made by HTC, unless you just want the plain MS one which doesn't have the proximity sensor built in. Since most of the 6.5.x SYS leaks that are coming out are AKU 530 (that number may be off) anyways, you have to use the dialer I am using now. 6.5 ROMs are easier to work with on the dialer. If you really want to test, we should work out a time (PM me) or something that we both can sit down and test some stuff.

@kraut, see above for dialer related answers, and BT issues somewhat apply as well to the above. I'm also fairly certain that CAB I have does both the icon and headset icon. Sorry I haven't posted it yet, but tomorrow I have nothin but free time. I use active sync for calendar and contacts, and haven't locked up yet. And always reset at the same time your phone and comp if your having issues. If your phone doesn't recognize your comp or opposite, make sure that the button changes state when you press it to select done when the USB to PC menu pops up. Or it will not connect right.

Also, people having freezing issues, please say whether you are overclocking or not, since a lot of people are doing it now. Also list CABs installed, and if your using CHT2 list your settings changes.

dibbson thank you for your help on this. Although I know you will want to get to the bottom of the bluetooth icon issue anyway - your cab sounds like a winner - I want to tell you don't trouble yourself further on my account as I had to switch to another rom til I know what to do about cookie2 freezing my phone with activesync. I'll be back (Austrian accent).

After installing the BT cab, the icon now appears. However, if I plug in a USB headset or miniplug headset I do not get an icon for headphones. Have not had a chance to try my BT headphones. Can do that when I get home.

You may know the below already, but wanted to pass the them on:

On another note, I noticed that the SMS tab in Sense does not update if you are in the tab. So, you are on the SMS tab and a new text comes in, you get notification, but the new text does not show up until you move off the tab and come back.

Also, the twitter tab has the 2018 bug of sort of rubberbandning you when you update. If you are in the tab and update the new tweets come in and you can scroll up to see them, but when you take your finger off the display, they shoot back down to the tweet you were on when you updated. You have to leave the tab and come back to get to the new tweets.

Ya, the sms thing is an issue with several different messaging tab packages. Same thing for the twitter thing, I've seen it happen sometimes and sometimes not.

This excellent ROM is the first one that has made it two weeks unmolested in quite some time. I like blazing fast stock-look ROMs with good sys files and all the crap removed. This one fits that description to a T. Loving the Arkswitch task mgr as well. That said, couple issues with the latest Sprint non-CHT.

1. The version of Facebook mobile that is included does not work after first login. Gives the "Error 104: invalid signature" message. Supposedly MS is working on a fix for this.

2. Phone tends to crash when I connect via USB to sync (windows XP). Does not do this all the time though.

3. Messaging tab does not update if a message comes in while it is in focus. You have to move to another tab then come back.

Not a bug, but I'm still on the fence about having the RSS Hub on the main screen. Is there a way to toggle this?

Keep up the good work. Thanks for helping make the phone bearable until I cave and get an Evo :)

I am using the 10-2-10 Titanium version with SPM Mobile Shell and this thing works perfectly except the new text messages indicator don't appear on the home screen. The phone makes noise and you can read the text but the numbers stays at 0 even though a new text message is received. This is true for both the Titanium and the Mobile Shell screen. Is anybody else having this problem?

btw: Verizon MMS messages are working both sending and receiving!!!

@jaym25, Thanks!, glad your liking the ROM, and I was about 99.9% sure MMS was fixed for VZ as I rolled back to my tried and true carrier files. As far as the SMS issue you are experiencing, thats a new one, usually it's the manila SMS tab not updating the visual message if you are sitting on the tab. But anyways, if you did try some texts before installing SPB or making any other changes, then it could have been something flaky on flash or something else as that has always worked before, and has been working fine for me on several different builds I have been running under the same SYS. Keep me updated though.

Also, is there any interest in a 6.5 ROM? I might have one or two of those in the works if so.

Definately Dibbs... As much as I like the finger friendliness of 6.5.x, I just am not that confident with it, with my heavy business use, on a day to day basis. I love your roms since waaayyy back when, and would like your modern take on another one.

Dibbs, you have 6.5x working so well, I'm not sure I would want to go backwards to 6.5.

With the sms indicator problem, I did a Task29 before loading this rom so I think it was a clean install. From my experience and what you are saying, it appears the sms info is not getting passed to the homesceen interface. All other indicators (i.e. email, missed calls, voice mail) work correctly. I also noticed that the bluetooth indicator missing at the top (that somebody mentioned) is just not in 6.5x yet as I tried other roms and got the same no BT indicator. I like knowing my earpiece is connected but not a major issue for me.

Another mms issue is sending pics from albums. It actually appears that the Arcsoft sms and mms functions are reversed. The SPB shell actually seperates the two functions, 'send sms' or 'send mms'. When you choose 'send sms' you can insert pics, etc. But when you choose 'send mms' the insert menu is grayed out. Certainly would explain why some album apps are having trouble sending pics. Perhaps a simple registry adjustment would fix this. I am having this particular issue with Resco Photo Manager.

The built in photo album works fine and the option is 'send sms/mms'. Seems it's just using the sms interface to make the send. The problem appears to be when the app specifically chooses mms. Seems it would make sense to just trick all apps to use tha Arcsoft sms interface since it allows attachments. Just the way I see it.

I would be interested in a 6.5 ROM.
I would prefer the Titanium version.
As I too use Titanium version with SPB Mobile Shell.

Because of the start location, 6.5 would be ideal with SPB Mobile Shell.

With SPB Mobile Shell, 6.5x is a little difficult for me.

So are you saying that all this stuff happens on just the titanium with nothing else installed or after you install SPB. If it's after SPB then it's an issue with SPB. If it's straight on the titanium with nothing else installed or modded, then I will start to take a look, but SMS notifications have worked fine for me on just a straight titanium. I rarely send or receive MMS messages, but the times I have it has worked, I do SMS messages a lot though.

There will be a titanium and manila version of 6.5, not sure of CHT version yet since it can be installed by way of CAB, and with 6.5 titanium and manila, that ups me to 24 seperate ROMs now, lol, too many....

Dibbs, It may be just the Verizon version or Arcsoft. But I will reload the rom and check out the text indicator in Titanuim. The MMS vs SMS issue I am sure is not related to SPB. Perhaps 'bpsamant' can go to a contact in SPB and select Send SMS and see if the Insert Option is enabled and then select Send MMS and see if the Insert Option is enabled. The Insert Option is in the menu of the SMS/MMS screen which I'm assuming is Arcsoft. In mine it's backwards. For SMS it is enabled and for MMS it is not.

Also 'bpsamant', In 6.5x you can easliy get to the start button by clicking the lower right menu button in the SPB home screen and selecting 'Show Today' which exposes the Start button. You can also get to your start menu by clicking the 'Launcher' button in the SPB home screen and sliding the Launcher screen. Hope this helps. I like 6.5x b/c it is so much more finger friendly!

Okay... Just discovered the text/MMS indicator not showing up is a problem with SPB Shell b/c it shows up on the Titanium default screen. I discovered this without reloading the ROM. Great job Dibbs!!!

Installed "Official Release Sense 2.5 2018", looks like it runs pretty smooth, but I can't connect to Activesync. Soon as I plug in the USB, the phone freezes, and Activesync doesn't recognize any connection. I saw someone posted having this issue with the Cookie version of the ROM, but I'm also having it with the standard version. Is there a fix to this, or an alternative way to load my contacts on here?

well, have you reset both the phone and comp at the same time? WMDC is kinda flaky, and make sure when the USB to PC popup comes up that when you press the bottom button that it lights up when pushed or it won't connect. Just unplug the cord, plug it back in and try it again until the bottom button lights up when pushed.

If you tried what I have recommended in the previous posts and it doesn't work let me know. I still haven't had any freezes myself though.

Dibbs et al... Is there a setting that will lock my phone completely until I physically unlock it? I keep locking it and putting it in my pocket only to take it out and find it unlocked and and some other page.

Not really a post that goes over "everything" I did. Mostly it's a 6.5 SYS optimized and cleaned/gutted out for performance and better memory footprint (few things here that weren't done to the 6.5.x). On the manila version, a few edits to 2018 that were user requests and my own tinkering. I fixed the mismatched internet tab icons (as per user request, and just for consistency's sake), and instead of the internet globe that you push on, on the internet tab, I replaced it with an Opera icon to match the program that it opens. I switched the 2018 slider tab back to default colors, (this one is actually a SYS fix) and fixed the "ok" button on center screen popups that wasn't showing correctly before on 6.5.x because of theme (may try and fix that on the next 6.5.x release as well)(both as per user request as well).

What version of the ROM are you on? Since a couple of ROMs feature different locks.

Thanks, Dibbs, I was just looking for a little overview about the difference between 6.5 and 6.5.x. Is it just an older version? Is the functionality different? Different programs included? That's all.

Nah, it's a new SYS on the 6.5 side. Same programs installed. Are you using a lock pin too? Maybe try a different lock screen, and I'm assuming you don't have anything magnetic in your pocket? lol.

You lock it, not just turn the screen off? I assume you are using the default manila lockscreen and not a third party app. I only have this problem when I just turn the screen off and I get a new sms or other notification and that turns the screen back on while its still in my pocket.

Just got the titanium rom flashed and it is super fast, thanks for adding the htc youtube app :razz: but there is one issue... i cant seem to find MS Office installed on the rom, am i missing something or is it not installed?

Your assumption is correct about the magnet...lol. I'm just using the lock screen that comes with the ROM. I click on the Windows button and then click the lock icon. What I need is it to stay locked until I want to unlock the darn thing.

You beat me to it. I was gonna give the same fix. I had an old office 6.1 from 2007 that I installed and then used marketplace to update to 2010. (office was left off manila version too).

new 6.5 sprint manila is awesome. I am more excited about this rom than the last several iterations. it is kind of fun going back to 6.5 after being on 6.5.x for the last year or so. Having the newest manila doesn't make it seem as old school as I thought it would be. I am digging it. Fast and more ram. Had to find one of my old taskbars though. lol

HTC taskmanager doesn't see opera mobile though. I remember there was a fix for that for the stock roms. gonna go searching for it.

i was gonna post the cabs earlier but i was trying to do it using opera mini (final version) and i kept getting the error saying the message is too short blah blah blah, so i did it as soon as i got home.

Find the opera keys under this reg key and delete them, should be two, [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager\Exclusi veList\System]

Works perfect. Delete Opera9.exe and OperaL.exe and soft reset for changes to take effect.

Though, I have been happy with opera mini as default browser and skyfire as a backup when mini doesn't work for a site. I was surprised that the manila internet tab actually launches mini when set as default.

And yeah, that is a bit surprising that mini switched to default, maybe Opera got a registry key right for a change, lol, JK
