OMFG!! I thought I just lost my raptor array on my desktop which had my whole kitchen on it! Just had a bad storm here, so i turned my comp off. Tried to turn it back on and my drives wouldn't boot. Turns out it was just a sata port blew thank you someone that it wasn't my drive. I had everything backed up but my kitchen related stuff. As I haven't done a backup in a couple weeks :( So needless to say, it's getting backed up now.... 9GB backed up in 3 mins not bad...

Flashed this today and love it so far. Two things I would like to address and I cannot determine how to. First, I am getting the black screen or hang up when trying to send a text from a contact card in sense. Read where someone mentioned to text yourself. Did that but still have the problem. I must be missing something?

Second, I cannot find where the setting for the keyboard sliding sound is. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Did you restore any old text messages? Sometimes that can cause issues. If not, which version are you running the 6.5 or the 6.5.x?

Dibb's, I can't remember hearing anything specific about the RSS Reader. But, if you had anything to do with this, you are absolutely the man!!! I just noticed upon flashing 23545, doing a clear storage and then completing provisioning and the rest of my installation that all of my RSS Feeds were back from 23544. Re-inputting all of the feed urls is one of my least favorite things to do. Are you somehow responsible for this? If so, thanks a ton. If not, I have to figure out what I did.

Yeah, I had it save your feeds to your storage card ;) Nice huh?

You need to go to windows explorer and press the ALT key, click on tools and then folder options and select the view tab and click on show hidden files and folders, and that should do it for you.

So you did or did not get it to download? Updater app is broken right now, working on it now, as some people may have noticed I took my site down except for the FTP and the Forums. And I wish I had that speed on the upload......

yeah, it's looking like it's not the app though and more on the server side. I'm back and forth with the hosting company with emails trying to sort something out. Well, just got an email back while I was typing this and it's been escalated to the hosting companies senior admin, LOL.

@dawgie, haha yeah, i've got decent DL speeds, just horrible upload speeds.

are you using htc messaging or the default wm messaging? Also have you checked the server settings in htc messaging to make sure they were correct just out of curiosity?

Update on Google Maps "My Location" (using Verizon) - Turn on WIFI :evil4::toothy7:

Just updated to 23545, and due to the piss poor reception in my office, I had to connect via WIFI to sync exchange. Well, I usually am very good at turning off my WIFI when I'm not using it, but forgot today. And when I was on my way home, I turned on Google Maps to check traffic.... AND MY LOCATION worked. After turning Google maps off and on a few times it kept on working. I then rebooted the phone... And it stopped working. So I got to thinking what changed... and I had remembered I left WIFI on.

Long story short - Turning on the phones WIFI fixes google maps "My Location". You do not need to be connected to a wireless network... Just need to turn on WIFI.

Tested it many times on my way home from work today. I did notice that sometimes "My Location" would not work even with WIFI turned on. In those cases a simple restart of google maps fixed it.

Any thoughts anyone?

Well, I always test run my phone without any cabs installed except for MMS. Helps to reliably determine bugs and what not.

Also, to avoid any confusion, the "My Location" feature in Google Maps will work without GPS turned on. Again, this is not dependent on GPS.

The "My Location" in Google Maps has been an issue for awhile on the Medium Hill Roms.... at least for Verzion (or just me :(). BTW, I have used this feature on other custom roms without problems.

try using the default text app under the accessories folder just to make sure you don't have some other issue going on.

+1 On My Location inconsistency. I'm on Sprint and 23545 is the first issue I've had with it. As a matter of fact Google Maps worked flawlessly on 23544. No big deal, just wanted to report the issue to see how widespread it might be.

flashed rom and did no provisioning or anything and launched google maps. Pressed the blue dot and it said location unavailable. Without closing Google Maps I went to comm manager and enabled WIFI and went back into Google Maps and pressed the blue button again and it took me about 100 meters of my current location. I did not enable GPS in Google Maps yet.

Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23545 <> MH UC v3.2 Question???

For anyone who knows, when flashing and then restructuring start menu with Medium Hill UC, how much of the folder subdirectory on my storage card do I need to create? For example, on my device I have a separate GPS folder (\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\GPS\Proximity Mobile). On my storage card do I create (\Storage Card\cabs\lnks\GPS\Proximity Mobile) or (\Storage Card\cabs\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\GPS\Proximity Mobile)? Thanks in advance.

yea yea, i have 47 ;) and Thanks jas0n, i'm still looking into the gmaps thing, i have installed gmaps as a cab install without it cooked in as well and that didn't seem to help either. So I am back down to the lower levels looking at why gmaps can't pull in agps without turning on wifi, and coincidentally, the wifi trick doesn't work for sprint (at least for me). I know everyone doesn't want to activate the real gps in gmaps, but on a side note, please realize agps is not as accurate in gmaps as using gps.

Re: <> 3-11-10 <> Medium Hill Rom's <> SYS 23545 & 21895 <> MH UC & Provisioning v3.2

because the rom is blank at first, and if i cooked in sprint carrier then the uscc people would see a sprint handset activation screen every time they booted their phone. And so i don't have to cook four separate roms for each carrier. I do 2 because of the differences between the rhod400 and rhod500 which is explained above the rom download links.

cool, thought maybe it was in case you wanted to drop a diff MMS cab into this..No problem, just loaded with your mms etc and am looking forward to the experience.. I see you have your own customized MAXMANILA cab and wanted to know do you prefer to run with that on your own phone and if so how does that differ in terms of weight vs cookie 1.6.1

ehhhhh, i change my phone so often it's hard to say. Cause i'm always testing things for the next release. So not much stays on my phone long actually. I run the max manila sometimes when i'm feeling frisky though. I have never ran the cookie monster actually. I somewhat take a minimalist approach with my own phone because i like to run my rom fairly stock so that way i'm not adding any adverse bugs or issues to the base rom. And yes, it does make it easier to add things in at first boot. Oh and with the max manila, the only "real" slow down that is noticable is if you leave the weather on the home tab active, i usually turn that off. Other than that it's pretty good. And the full screen mode has most of the gui edits.

dibbs, saw you got a test rom for google maps agps issue (my location). Thanks.

I would test it out but I am out of town right now. I'll probably have some time tomorrow to test if its still needed.

also, i know the my location feature is not very accurate, but i tend to find myself in large buildings which gps has a hard time locking. The my location is very useful in such situations since it can determine your location and makes it easy to search for nearby places.

Since BG4ALL was not the best answer due to manila slow down and people asking "why is the background white?", I have gone with HDWalls, and will have it available as an install on first boot or later through the UC app. Also I will be adding the cab's to the TSK directory of my FTP so you can download which ever one you want if you decide to use one of mine. That way you can load your own on first boot, or download mine through the updater app. You'll need to install HDwall cab and the HDwall patch cab as well through the UC app if you choose to use it. Here are some sample pics that include some custom Manila mods I did. The only issue I have though is I can't get the landscape image to show correctly yet. It shows the portrait image instead of the landscape one. If anyone has any ideas on that one let me know while i'm trying to work it out.

Dibbson, really enjoying the speed of the ROM (running the latest 6.5.3---23545) and super smooth..couple things..is this taskbar available for 6.5.3 (looks like I see on from hitting the paperclip but really want to make sure)..also are any of these manila mods available yet ( they look awesome)..last note...I am on Sprint and can not get an MMS to send (wonder if it is because i keep trying to send via the htc message)..gonna go into the wm message and see if that will send a pic.. ( i get a message that the pic needs to be resized and then after hitting send, waiting a few mins, i get the dreaded did not work note)..Again great rom..
