I can understand why you think it's weird since I've been playing with the ervius kitchen for the last week and understand how you can create different builds simply by loading a different erv file.

I'm running the same RAM (full version - but the SYS is identical) have had the phone off the charger for 4.5 hours now, light/moderate use, activesync on the entire time, data connection at normal (only active on request, suspended otherwise), and am at 81%.


1) Phone calls will eat battery life, especially if you've got a radio that doesn't work well in your area. Have you tried flashing a different radio? I find the Sprint radios work best for me in LA. Radios have nothing to do with what carrier you're on, they'll work regardless. Radio transmission and backlight are the two biggest power drains I'm aware of on these devices.

2) Active sync running doesn't mean it's actually connecting to anything, just that it normally stays active after a sync to exchange or pc. So whenever you use something that calls on Active sync, it'll just stay on. That should not significantly affect battery life, unless you are 'as received' for download scheduling.

How old is your battery? Li-ion only last so many hours / charge cycles, and a charge cycle is any time you plug the phone in and then discharge it, doesn't matter if the battery drained a lot or almost not at all. So after a while battery performance really will drop off severely. But if other roms give significantly better battery life (all else being equal - they need to have Sense because rendering all that 3d takes more power) then it's obviously not the hardware.

I do suggest you try flashing a totally stock ROM (preferably the .exe kind that re-locks your phone) to make sure that any buggy memory registers are overwritten. Flashing custom roms can, occasionally, cause this to happen, and flashing to stock prior to custom will ensure that all memory 'housekeeping' is up to snuff.

Trying a new OEMXipKernel on my end at the moment, but when it fails like the previous ones I will try the flashdance again followed by the Lite to reverify once more.

Yes, then you'll know - the only difference between the two ROMs is that in the LITE version I exclude most of the EXT packages from the build. So it should behave normally, but hell, it's a wonder any of this stuff works at all, far as I'm concerned!

Ok, just got done flashdancing and trying the Lite version again, same result. Shows the battery problem, doesn't visually show a charge and lockscreen is as I previously described. The other thing I noticed just now was when trying to flash a new ROM while the Lite version was running, it reports battery is low and can't perform the flash. Had to goto the bootloader screen to flash.

Can anyone recommend a good task manager for this ROM? Showcase works, but the mapping it to a long press on the phone button is so inconsistent; sometimes it launches, most times it does not and then 3 seconds later, it pops up...

I found a bug (battery capacity indicator stuck at 0 / 100) in the 29L build - taking it off the site for now, will upload a fixed version tonight or tomorrow.

I found the problem - there was a missing EXT in the LITE version. EXTs shouldn't be required, but this one is for some reason, probably a dependency to another EXT.

Glad you narrowed it down. That is a bit bizarre.
