ill be honest with ya,i was all about the empirom, but dude fell off the face of the earth and i get bored quick.
this rom, however, looks sweet and seems to be working just fine.if the batterylife is anything like the empirom, ill be here for the duration.
one thing i wonder is there any way u can put the battery tweaks on this one?

You can definitely text from landscape - I wouldn't have it another way (hate SIPs...). If you click 'menu' > 'reply' on the SMS tab, it'll open the windows SMS client and that works just fine in landscape. 'All messages' from Manila tab works that way, too.

cheers,

lunacie

Thanks so much! I'm working on a new build, probably happen in a day or two. I'll include Amarullz' messaging client, and some other minor fixes.

If you haven't noticed, there's an HTC-like volume control app included (Set Volume .70), but you have to manually select a skin via 'SetVolumeConfigure' in the Tools folder, then run 'SetVolume' once.

I'm going to add a .lnk in the startup so it runs automatically in a future version, but right now that manual skin selection is the wrench in the works to make it seamless.

My bad Lunacie maybe I didn't explain myself correctly (not the first, certainly not the last.) What I meant was that the Manila sense 2.5 doesn't work in landscape as far as sliding into and out of the text tab or any other tab (like when you flip open the keyboard.) Sorry for any confusion but I have a thick skull

That's a strange one - can you do a screen cap of this for me? Spb screencap is included in start > multimedia folder. I don't seem to have that behavior on my TP.

I'll definitely consider making a trimmed down version.

I'd love to hear from Verizon TP users what your 'must-have' applications are that I should include in the ROM, or should it be completely bare, no added apps, to add your own cabs?

I was reading Indagroove Rom that this alignment issue can be fixed. See notes below I just copy over.

Why is my screen out of alignment?

Whats going on here all the sudden my screens out of whack what happened?

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...1&d=1258527797 http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...0&d=1258527556

Your phone runs an application (ManilaFixPosition) on every boot up that aligns the screen. Some home screen modifications can knock this alignment off. From what I've seen none of my applications cause this error, but adjusting things like the tabs at the bottom will. So how do you fix this, well its very simple soft reset the phone and your all done. For the more techy you could create a shortcut to the ManiliaFixPostion app. and run it when needed. You would need to run it twice as the first time terminates the program.

Edit: cleanRAM causes screen miss alignment I use the shortcut I created to fix this. Rebooting the phone would make running cleanRAM useless.

First and formost this rom looks great . I've been using it since 10am this morning and it's about 2 hours morderate use. I've lost about 40 percent battery life (No Biggie). Problem I have so far is when I'm trying to setup my hotmail account to sync automatically the menu bar won't allow me to do so. Is there any other way to do this? Again thanks for time and effort on making this Rom Lunacie!!!

I've noticed slightly increased battery useage withe the 28005 SYS, but considering how screaming fast it is I'm more than ok with it, too.

I don't use Hotmail, so initially I don't have an answer, but I'm guessing if you do a site search on it you should see something. Is this where u sync via windows live? Is there a screen size issue? If so, taking a screencap and posting it here could help me determine a fix.

Not that this is a direct solution, but gmail is the best there is right now, especially since it has a true exchange server, as opposed to Hotmail's janky windows live hack (shame on MS for that). You could get a gmail account, it has a feature that will allow you to add other non gmail accounts so it can just download them, then set up activesync with google's exchange server and you've got the real deal - contacts, calendar, and mail all sync'd via exchange... for free!

there are a few battery saving cab files lurking about for use on custom roms, i use two of them everytime i flash a rom, they seem to help out a bit,but you would have to try them on this rom to see if they would work, hell its worth a shot, the tp backlight is the biggest drawback, Maxx134_BatterySaving_ReducePollingIntervals.cab will adjust your backlight,if your not happy with where it sets, just adjust to your pref.

Re: |ROM|11-30 << lunacieROM v28005-22 >> wm 28005 - Sense 2.5 <<

On this rom I can go @ 10 hours till I have to charge (@ 18%). Depends on usage, for sure, but that's with moderate typical use. Also, lithium battery systems have a tendency to fall out of calibration pretty quickly, and since they ship with a 1/2 full battery the metering is messed up right out of the box! So even tho the meter states a specific percentage, the battery itself is actually at a different capacity. You can re-calibrate the meter by running the phone down near empty, then turn off the phone, recharge until full with it off. At that point the metering should be reset. This will not actually affect battery capacity, but will result in recharge circuit & phone using battery more efficiently.

As others have stated, backlight is #1 offender... I recommend working with Lumos (auto backlight utility) which is cooked into this rom. You can find it under start>tools and just run the calibration wizard again. This app, more than any other, helps with battery life.

This 28005 SYS is superfast, but definitley not as easy on power as earlier builds, or other COM branches.

But TP have lousy batteries, it's either slower performance or longer battery life, never seems to be both. I usually opt for speed!

i have no size issue or anything, it's just the auto sync'ing part. Other Rom's I setup Hotmail.com to sync every 30 mins. with this rom iT does not the the feature for setup. I have attched the screen for you where it was stuck at.

totally agree with your post and mostly about lumos, i been using that since i first got my tp lol it worked wonders on the stock rom

as far as a verizon rom that sounds splendid!!!!!! would love to see a bare bones version myself as we could always install what each individual prefers compared to maybe having a vzw rom with "loaded" apps that may not get even looked @ by some users

I have the Battery tweaks and hack in a cab form. But I'm not installing that yet. Going to do a test pilot for a couple of days to see how well this perform on stock. And I've already adjusted the blacklight using lumos which this Rom came with. Big ups on that

Pagepool of 0 allows windows to dynamicaly alloticate the memory as it wants. This results in very high usage but strong performance, perfect for sprint phones. 6 is a static number and equates to the static memory allowed for windows. The higher the number except for 0, typically the better the performance, but at a memory expense. 6 -12 is a great number for verizon phones.

HTH

Well hopefully Lunacie will be willing to make a barebones rom for Verizon.....then we can just add we need ...

ok i just flash this rom and stock on the Verizon boot up screen......its been there for a while already.... i did the flashdance before flashing this rom...... any suggestions ..... it just say " please wait, phone starting up but been there for a while... how long does this rom usually takes to load .....haven't had this issue with other roms before...

It's probably a bad flash... it does take a little while for the install, as the ROM has over 600 modules, which is more than many!

If you never get past the intro screen, just go into bootloader mode by resetting and holding power & volume down button simultaneously, then plug in USB and re-flash.

VERIZON USERS:

I'll have a barebones version cooked either today or tomorrow, will post it as an option for VZW users, along with a fixed 8mb pagepool. The fixed pagepool will affect performance somewhat, but it's a necessary step to make sure that VZW TPs don't bump the ram ceiling.

cheers,

JT

looking forward to trying this out!!! the fixed pp of 8 will be a + as im sure there will be ppl who flash the rom not knowing about pp settings, i have seen countless post on this site stating "i can't use this rom" or "use's too much memory" and such, well before flashing and upon finding pp settings anywhere from usually 22-32 range then i know why they said it lol,and from personal exp. from having tested pp settings from 6-12 on several occasions i can clearly agree that 8 pp setting has netted me the best results!!
