The character count has been removed because that's what was determined way back when to cause the lag while entering a text message. I can't remember off the top of my head but there's like 2 files that have been altered to remove it.

Ah, thanks for filling me in. If anyone's interested, here's an interesting post containing a cab file which limits your text message to 160 or 140 characters:

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

Anyone know how to change the default browser from IE to Opera when you press the FN+BROWSER shorcut combo on the keyboard?

I installed Opera 10 Final to storage card and set it as default browser when asked, but the keyboard shortcut still opens IE.

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

The only problems are :
1. It's getting slower and slower as i'm using it for a long period since last soft reset. I notice that gwes.exe takes a lot of memory resources and still growing up. Will 1.06 manage this process better? That will be solved as I do a soft reset again.
2. Seems Twitter tab displays all tweet even though i have set the max display to 50 tweets.
3. GPS fix seems slower than 1.03. Fyi, i leave the setting in standard form (didn't change anyting through adv conf manager) in both of them (1.03 and 1.05). And installed same version of bore quickgps.

Nothing else than those minor issues, and I must say that this is the greatest rom i ever use so far.

Thanks.

Did anybody ever figure out the problem with the photos all being saved in portrait mode (rotated 90 degrees)? It's a pain trying to rotate the photo every time i want to take a pic, and mms it to somebody.

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

Guys I am on sprint. I installed the rom no problem. I just tried to actually activate the phone via online with sprint and couldn't get it to work. Just to review install instructions. After I install the ROM, let the customizations run and then run the sprint cab correct?

Guys at sprint are trying to run me through troubleshooting but there doing it from a windows 6.1 perspective.

If anyone has some advice, it would greatly be appreciated

Is there a fix for this yet?

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

honestly you should flash to a stock rom then activate the phone then flash to a custom rom. if you are not running official firmware (for the most part) sprint will not help you with support. flash to stock, then try online. if your on a sero acct you may need to call in and activate. if so they may want to manually provision and program the phone.
