I would pull the battery for ~30 seconds and put it back in and then the phone would hard reset. Not sure if that is a "feature" but it is really annoying. It was a killer for me using this rom and I had to move on to something else.
Every time the system locked up I was just using tf3d (usually when trying to change tabs) and the screen and buttons all became unresponsive.

u need to "flash dance" sir.

Yes I have seen this too. Very annoying. Assuming it was a flash issue, I took no chances and cleaned up the entire chain:
Re-downloaded the ROM and extracted.
Formatted my SD-Card fresh (I flash from SD).
Reflashed 1.01b.
Enjoy the ROM with all issues gone...
Enjoy your evening :-)

I believe I did flash dance but may be unclear on what the whole dance requires. Please let me know if these are the right steps

0. Hard reset device
1. download rom and flash via SD card or in recovery mode via USB
2. after flash is complete do a hard reset
3. after hard reset and customizations run, reset device

Is that all correct?
Right now I am using EnergyROM without any of the issues I was having with NFSFAN's rom but it may just be coincidence.

I installed your opera 10 beta and I can't see the settings and options buttons under the default winmo soft keys...Any suggestions?

Other than that, the best rom I've used.

The "flashdance" starts with flashing back to the stock rom from your carrier first. Then proceeding with the rest of those steps.

To me the flash dance goes like this.

1) Flash Stock rom
2) pull battery out for a couple of minutes and turn back on
3) Clear storage
4) flash custom rom
5) Battery thingy again
6) Clear Storage

4-6 should be done on every single rom u flash

awesome job on this man! Glad to see you fixed that keypad button during the phone call thingy i had mentioned. no bugs so far! using it for 2 days solid with a lot of abuse and still holding up strong. OH...one thing...my mess up though..i had forgotten to flash my uscc carrier cab to it and noticed that the radio kept going offline and data would not work. i flashed the carrier cab, downloaded the prl and bam! No problems after that! once again, Awesome job dude!

I don't think NFSFAN has released a 6.5.X release yet for the vogue but you can check the thread for an update.

is anyone else not seeing the full screen of Opera Mobile 10? I can't get to the settings on the bottom of the screen

Re: *Updated November 27th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

I dont know exactly why it does this but when you load Opera 10 for the first time, it will only display Menu and Stop on the bottom. Pressing Menu twice will quit opera, pressing Stop 2-3 times will eventually get you to the speed dial screen and then get you the normal back, forward, tabs, settings etc buttons.

Weird but easy fix.

Yes, at least on the 11/27/09 build (before the fixes) and it works.

Really enjoying the rom. Fast. Stable. But I want to change the weather icons. Installed the HTC icons from Showaco, but there's no option to change the icons in the weather settings.l

Re: *Updated November 27th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

Expect an update soon. Release 1.02B will have a good increase in speed over 1.01B, mainly because I switched from using platformrebuilder to ExtReloc + BuildOS. I think I'm the first to do this yet, so YAY for that ... bragging rights:headbang: Took a good amount of time to learn how to fully utilize this tool, especially since the documentation is in Russian, and google translate sucks. But like I said expect an update, I'm still testing 1.02B on my phone, as of now there are no changes over 1.01B except for the speed increase and stability gained by using ExtReloc.

Advantages to using ExtReloc:

*Consistent module placement (speed increase --> tested with glbenchmark, vsbenchmark2009 + ROM is fluid)
*Usage with XIP (reloc) allows for complete control of how XIP is built (through scripting + xipport)
*Ability to discern which modules are to be relocated to Slot 0 (modules with "L" flags) through reading module flags in .dsm (not used when 6.5 kernel is present)
*Less memory leaks
*Provxml(s) get processed (at boot)

I cant imagine the current ROM being faster, currently its perfect as far as I can tell.

Cant wait to see what you do with 2.5 when you get around to it... The only issue I had with it before was the lack of landscape, but it looks like that has been solved.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for sticking with the TP, Ive noticed many of the chefs have abandoned this forum for the TP2.

Re: *Updated November 27th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

NFSFAN first off I would like to say thanks for this ROM, I'm coming over from EmpiROM (6.5.1) and so far I am enjoying the ROM, and like someone else said it's nice to see a chef with talent stick with the Touch Pro as others have moved on to the TP2.

A couple of questions I have is:

1. Can anyone tell me how to change the background
2. How do I see what PRL I have because when I type in ##786# nothing happens and when I go into phone codes and press PRL it asks for an unlock code
3. Anyway to get rid of the pop up box that comes up when updating the weather?

Just tried to send my first text message with this ROM and I'm having trouble, they never send and just sit in my draft or outbox, yes I have installed the provision, I even reinstalled arcsoft and didn't help, any help with this would be appreciated.

Re: *Updated November 27th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

Hate to be picky, but how does one go about changing the panoramic wallpaper, or is there a cab around that can reverse that entirely? The background makes it hard to read the stock updates (which I wouldn't even have if it wasn't for this rom.) and I don't think I'm a fan.

I haven't flashed a rom since I had my ppc6700, but I just did this one and I really like it so thanks for sharing. Its nice to breath new life into my phone, cuz I'm gonna be stuck with it for a long, long, time.

i had a few issues doing it too. if you do it through the settings page on touch flo, then soft reset it should change the home page. add on a bg4all 2.1 and you should be good. took a few tries but it did work

Re: *Updated November 27th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

the old saying.. "if it ain't broke.... don't fix it" comes to mind in my two days with this rom. It is perfection thus far (although I miss the snooze feature in the alarm clocks). I sure hope 1.02b doesn't break anything.

I'm sprint and had no problems with texting (as someone mentioned above).
Everything works and works well.
The only thing that hasn't.... i tried to install a custom taskbar of the tsowen variety and it ruined the buttons at the bottom of the screen. An uninstall and reinstall did not fix it, nor did a theme change.
Has anyone else experienced this with custom taskbars?
Is there a workaround?
Better yet does anyone have a link or two to taskbars that have worked? I'm not married to any of them.

Re: *Updated November 27th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.x ROMs

Anyone seeing an issue with the alarm clock? I used it for the first time this morning and each time the alarm when off it would lock up and I would have to do a soft reset (not easy for me when just waking up). I did flash dance when I put the ROM on including a hard reset after flashing to NFSFAN's. It's not that big of deal because everything else is working great. One the best ROM's I've used and I've used several.

I'm looking for the same thing. From what I've been able to gather the taskbar icons are embedded in various system modules, so if you install a set of icons that were intended for a different version of WM it will more than likely make a mess of things.

So you need taskbar icons specific to WM6.5.3 (i.e. the 28xxxx series)... and I haven't had any luck finding any yet.
