probably not its most times the carrier, OEM (htc), or the source where the build comes from removing things but in this case its me cleaning the sys since not every one comes with the same stuff ... I have this thing about getting a new build but gotta use old stuff with it ... so this keeps everything uniform its the base the stuff that gotta come with the build .... plus it would suck to have a nice new feature but your os keeps crasing lol , so these builds will focus on just the os and I'll let you guys do the adding

As always...THANK YOU for your clean ROM's JD.

And THANK YOU for addressing the security and lock screen issue. I have it on the 23071 build as well.

Your work is very much appreciated!

It looks stock, completely stock, and the list of programs would include next to nothing. The ROM is stripped to the bones and blazing fast, ready for anything you'd like to throw at it.

when you say random lockups I need you to elaborate or other wise I cannot help you solve whatever issue is causing the lockup for you ....

Just installed the fixed 23071 and the security and lock issue is fixed. Thank you JD! This is the best ROM for those that don't like fluff!

However you must have removed the Windows Marketplace app from the stock ROM. Not a big deal but would be nice to keep going forward.

Thanks.

Can you put some of the stock stuff up as cab downloads again? mainly marketplace, the widgets, remote desktop mobile and MSVC. I think the others are easy to get from marketplace. If not, that's cool.

On a separate note, i found a "bug" of sorts. The volume up/down rocker only beeps at the loudest and 2nd quietest settings. Dunno why. Tested on 2 different phones, same result. Same bug was in the 23069 build. I'm guessing its a MS bug.

Itching to try the new version of 6.5... but I'm too stupid to "build" (add all the cabs) a decent rom from clean base roms like this
.

I would have given more info but I plan on going to the 23071 rom now anyway... it was would not wake from sleep issues. If it continues in the next rom I will look further into it.

Re: JD's Clean WM6.5.x Beta ROMs

Possibly another bug:
The zoom slider in IE mobile seems to be missing. There's no zoom button, but even "right" clicking on a webpage and bringing up the zoom option does nothing.

Thanks again, loving the new beta builds.

Im with you but you dont have to "build" cabs. There are thousands of programs and apps already in cab format. You simply install on the device by putting the cab file on the device and clicking on it.

+1 I am for all the standard MS Progs as I use them all, "marketplace, the widgets, remote desktop mobile and MSVC" the Marketplace and RDP I can add as Cabs, but it is nice to have the latests MSVC that goes with the build, i have no idea about rdp if that ever gets updated but i have a cab for 6.5 from a long time ago that works if anyone needs it.

Yeah that's why I put build in quotes. There are a bunch of cabs that I don't have though, because I am use to full version roms and a lot of the stuff that goes into those I just take for granted... like some of the core MS and HTC apps.

Loving the rom. very cool. some of my favorite apps dont work so well on the build though. For example, the menus in memmaid are goofed up, and theres no option to register. cant see the settings tap in gpstoday also relatively minor issues i guess.

Heres the cab file for Windows Marketplace. I installed it and it works on this build.

So, 23069 fixed this issue (suppressed windows autocomplete list), but it's back in 23071. Anything we can do as the end user? Thanks!

I believe I found a bug.

Typically XT9 being enabled suppresses Windows mobile's built in "TO:" field suggestions for SMS messaging. This is because XT9 has its own suggestion input. Both run off of your contacts list. However, in your ROM, both XT9 AND windows tries to suggest contacts, and actually messes the whole thing up.

For example, I want to send a new text to "user". I go to the texting interface, select new message and then begin typing "u" "s", etc. As I type u and then s, 2 windows pop up:
One is the windows suggestion which appears as a list in a box directly under the TO field
The second is a box at the bottom of the screen with left/right directions for your choices. This is the XT9 suggestion box, and is active when using both the hardware keyboard and software keyboard.

Unfortunately, using the XT9 suggestion does not work. I have typed U and S and USER has come up for both suggestions. Hitting enter types in the rest of USER + number in the TO field, and I can begin writing my message. However when sending, the TO: field in the message list display reads 1 (1) and you get an error saying the message cannot be sent.

The only way to send a new message is to use the windows suggestion list and ignore the XT9 suggestion. This is difficult because you can only interact with the XT9 suggestions unless you phyiscally tap on the windows suggestion.

EDIT: this issues was previously describe in post 910 and 914: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=914
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=910

You mentioned there is a fix, but it appears to have reappeared in this last build.
Is there a fix for this that we can do as an end user?

Thank you for all your hard work. I think you're the only cook here who is really going for as stock as possible a build, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

Hey JD is there going to be any love for the 23075 build? I have had more random not waking from sleep with the 23071 build others reported this in the 6.5 dev thread so maybe its a build issue. Its only 1 or 2 times a day no big deal. I have too many cabs installed to list...lol thats probably the problem.

I loves the clean ROMS!

I miss some of the HTC Apps from the stock roms. I found a post on xda that had a listing of stock cab download locations but it hasn't been kept up to date. Does anyone know where the is a more up to date list hiding?

Also I just noticed if I try and use a black theme I get a red tint on the bottom bar. I tried the Rock and Republic as well as one I downloaded and I get them same issue. Any idea how to fix this?

Re: JD's Clean WM6.5.x Beta ROMs

I just got back from a long vacation with some very heavy use on 23069.Overally very nice rom. A few issues I had along the way, Dont know if any of these are related to this rom or not.
1. GPS takes forever to find my position. Some instances it took 10-15 minutes even with EV network. I would also frequency loose my gps position along my 8 hour road trip, especially if I let the phone go into standby. Tried to install quickgps from jds tp extra but its doesnt work on this build.
2. RSS Feed from jds tp extras seems to have problems on this build, it will lock up after a few minutes of use and will not work properly again until you soft reset.
3. Email retreval from my yahoo account is really buggy, about 8 out of 10 times I send/recieve I get the prompt for my username/password and it doesnt work. I assume this is a yahoo issue I only mention it in case others are having this issue.
4. Some strange battery charging issues, sometime I plug into to the car charger and it charge fine and everything is good, other times it gets really really hot and doesnt take a charge. It seems to be fixed by just removing the plug and replacing and it goes away.
