Looks like you have special/strange characters in your 'NAME' field -- try cleaning that one up and see if it takes. Other than that and username/pass, your xml looks a lot like mine (also for gmail).

EDIT: Yup, in your screenshot the error even references line 9, which is where your 'NAME' field is. Try changing that.

OMG, that worked perfectly, thanks.... also found this site that creates cabs out of XML files here http://supware.net/

well i didnt find it, was given too by dude over at XDA during my quest for sanity in this situation.
