the only change in 2.16 is the kernel. afaik, you can never recieve calls or sms in EvDO mode. maybe the setting did not take...

Is there a way to remap the SYM key on the keyboard from Internet Explorer to all the symbols that it's supposed to show?

if thats the million dollar question then i have no faith in the WinMo community...

a simple search using CeRegEditor of SYM turns up the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\KeyboardConfig\Keys\65 \*\Click
DWord is: KeyCode
Value is: 197

Find out what value the SYM pad is and GG you win, I tested this idea out with Keys\73\*\Click (its the HOME button for those who dont know, if you click the # in this case 65 it lists in the DWord SYM as the name and HOME for 73) and changed its KeyCode value to 197 then reset the device, now whenever i press home IE starts... seriously...

values here also point to Internet Explore.lnk they probably also need to be changed...

information also in the key shows \windows\symselector.exe which i could not find (also .exe?)

PS, from what i found the link is KeyCode 116, however since symselector.exe is missing when i replace the keycode the phone does nothing (probably because its MISSING)
PSS apparently its been MIA for a long time... a different method is needed i guess as its an invalid entry (why keep it if its invalid :/)

Hmm, I wonder if symselector.exe can be pulled from one of the many roms that do have it and dropped into the windows directory. Well I can't get myself to try it right now, I flashed my phone like 10 times yesterday and can't get myself to do it today.

sadly not a fix however... which is why i posted the information incase it helps..

PS: Sorry keyboard stopped working again and did nothing so i figured it did nothing :(, so why isnt this fix standard on your rom then?

Thanks DCD that worked perfectly.

It didn't seem like it was going to be a fix at first, rather seemed like it was just going to make that key do nothing. But apparently that exe is a part of EzInput, and that's what is broken.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the fix! :)

Anyone have a good Opera 9.5 cab for this rom? I did a bit of searching yesterday and found all of one, but it isn't working all that well. Seems slow. It's some Opera 9.5 Rhodium XDA version. Anyone have something else handy?
