Great rom and kitchen, thank a lot DCD for all the hard and great work you've done for us. I notice that some programs/cabs I installed do not work or cannot be opened. It says something like this "The file 'XXX' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found". Do you have any idea or how to find the solution? Please advise.

I am cooking DCD rom by adding OEM files from other kitchen OEM fine, have you tried that?

wow... this was the fastest flash/setup I've seen. I almost don't want to taint this setup and install my cabs.

DCD, thanks for the time and effort you've put into your releases. Sometimes I think it's unfortunate for amazing chefs like you and JD who tend to lose out to those other people who gravitate to "eye candy". But this sets the standard for baseline c&s ROMs....

no, ive never used these type of kitchens, so i dont know what actually happens when you put an oem...does it appear in the kitchen? will it just be added to the rom or do you have to select it in the kitchen?

You basically copy and paste any OEM to DCD Oem folder, that's set.

yea, well that i imagined, but do you have to select it in the kitchen like most of the kitchens? or how do you know it is beeing cooked in? maybe you can post a step by step tutorial?

Re: dcd's hermann ROM & kitchen 2.16

I have just gone a full day of running 2.16 running on the same charge from the time that I flashed last night with about 30-40% battery life to spare with reasonable phone activity. I have so far installed a decent majority of my essential apps like Microsoft Myphone, RSS Hub, YouTube, GoogleMaps, Facebook, Arcsoft MMS Sprint, and Maverick's 6.5 titanium themes. I have yet to install any of the games I would normally play during those times where I "sit on the throne" or whenever I need to kill time. Frankly, this might even be a good thing but at some point, I'm sure I'll get around to loading it up.

I am really happy to report that I have not experienced any hiccups or lag so far with this ROM. It is very responsive with no lag or hiccups that would be otherwise caused by the normal application startups or normal operation. It's simply amazing to me how much of a difference the 6.5 native kernel has done for this release.

Right now, I am resisting the urge to load up additional TodayScreen UIs like Manila 2.1, PointUI, or Touchfree because I simply do not want to "open the door" and invite any potential reasons for lag, hiccups, and/or additional reason for battery drain. Again, I'm sure I will load it up just to put this to the test but right now, no. I'm appreciating this ROM for what it is at this point.

Now if only Maverick or whomever did those themes in Silence's new ROM could be released in a cab. :)

In this particular case, if you feel the need to ask the question, why not just forget the kitchen and do it .cab style?
Again, DCD said his Kitchen wasn't designed for end users. Its there for chefs who prefer it and know how to use it. For everyone else, he doesn't recommend it, and turns out its really not necessary. I'm starting to realize cooking OEMs into a ROM is hardly ever beneficial, especially when cabs are easily uninstalled if you screw something up, and can be set up to autoinstall. But that's a whole 'nother story.

Meanwhile, anyone notice some odd scrolling behavior in things like HTC album? I can't circle an area to zoom into anymore- it immediately thinks I'm trying to scroll around instead of zoom (something you normally have to press-and-hold first to do). Kind of annoying as I use gestures on screen, and I feel like some of them aren't working now. Having some odd today screen plugin behavior that I think is related as well (using homescreen plus plus, and when I flick my finger on some screens, it scrolls the opposite direction, and other times it scrolls correctly. Odd).
