I hope I have an easy question, I screwed up my "Home" key and it no longer opens the start menu it only takes me to the today screen. I wonder if someone could help me get it back to the way it was originally? thanks so much

Are you using Touch Flo Detacher by any chance? There is a setting in that which allows you to set your keys to switch to various screens.

im not.... but will look into it, was hoping someone could just look at the registry entry
and i'd just copy it, plus I use the regular old home screen, no touchflo, no titanium

If I knew the entry, I would. Let me look around a bit.

EDIT: Check this and see what it says: HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila there are two keys that have path in the name, one is left, the other is right. Not positive that is the setting for you though as I have TF Detacher installed so I can switch back and forth between TF3d, Mobile Shell 3, and the Today screen.

EDIT 2: Regular today screen, hmm, let me keep looking.

EDIT 3: Not seeing anything else in my registry that jumps out at me. You could check this out and see if there is anything you think might work. There are a few places there that has stuff dealing with keys. Note, the reg info is the kinda small text underneath each part, you don't have to create a cab file. Hope some of this was helpful...

ummm... ur kidding right?

startmenu -> settings -> personal -> buttons -> home -> change to start menu....

that function has been their... forever... (of course forgive the statement if you meant something else but home "key" means button to me...)

Re: dcd's hermann ROM & kitchen 2.06

Well, that might work, but mine has 5 buttons labeled as Button, and the assignment as <context menu> and then a button called Send key (hold) assigned with Voice Command. I had to soft-reset to get out of there, since "Each program button must have a unique button assignment. Please select a different button assignment." Was no cancel or anything either...

Where to place OEM's

I need advice as to where to place my OEM's in the DCD Kitchen to produce Manila using the Gen Y oems?

I've included the OEM files and folders everywhere i could think, to include the OEM folder itself.

Well, for one thing the packages that come in the recent 'Gen.Y-Manila_R1.1_VGA_CFC-OEM' as posted in the original thread all contain _skip files that would need to be removed. There are some packages that contain multiple versions within their folder(s) and you need to sort out what you want and don't want. That also goes for language/localization -- there are lots (and lots) of extra files you should probably remove if all you are building for is English (0409).

Short answer: Try the nice and clean Gen.Y R1.1 OEMs that Calkulin (thanks Calk!) put together from Yozgatg's work -- it's in his last kitchen hosted here on PPCG. They work great for me in DCD's 2.06 kitchen. Drop the one's you need/want into the OEM folder and they will be cooked in.

Man you always have a clean concise no nonesence answer!

they seem to update often however, why would they put so much bloat in there like that?

Is the version you suggest, updated often!
