Ok.

Now I have a question. I'm confused.

1.12.31F seems to give me the BEST battery life, BUT...

my HDR hovers around -87db, but the 1X RX fluxuates between -89 - -101 dbm

But the Verizon 1.03.09, my HRD hovers around -84dbm, but the 1X RX is quite steady between -77 to -86dbm.

This is in my house and I have a Airave unit in the other room

Battery life IS noticibly better on the first one over the verizon one.

Any ideas?

dang, i was gonna say ur choice is easy, go with verizon, however the battery life beingnoticeably wose on the verizon is tough to deal with. shouldnt the airave be giving u better signals than that with the first radio?

I experienced the same problem, I live in cali, it is really weird since the rom shouldnt change the radio, I updated the radio to the Verizon one and I noticed while updating that the version said it was mighty mikes version. "weird"

That's normal cause the Rom Update Utility only reads the OS rom version, not the radio rom version.

It doesn't seem to "read" the airrave until an actual call comes in then I have a really GREAT db number.

Up until that point, it looks like it reads the towers and not the airave.

If I have a Sprint phone and put an Alltel/Verizon radio on it, would it be possible that I would pick up their EVDO? I'm in a 1x area and can't wait for higher speeds, then maybe I'll actually get good use out of my phone. Unfair, I Want My 3G!!

Trying to update this radio on my Touch Pro, but when I'm in the dialer screen and ##33284# nothing happens. I also tried ##33284+talk , doesn't work either. Any ideas?

are you using a custom rom? in some roms, the codes don't work in the dialer skin, so try using advanced config and turning off the dialer skin to put the code in

Not quite how to change radios. Check at the beginning of this thread, I believe it has how to flash yoyr TP. You need to unlcok it first before flashing.

I thought about that, didn't give it a try though ^.^ and yes im using Psyki's rom. I'll let you know if taking off the dialer skin works. thanks.

I can change the radio, its unlocked and all of that right now, just needed to know why the ##33284# code wasn't working. Should of solved it now though. Thanks =]
