JD's Clean Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM & Kitchen (updated Oct.14)

Welcome my ROM is designed as a "clean" ROM that primarily focuses on Windows Mobile 6.5 OS but maintains most of the HTC hardware functionality, I removed almost all of the HTC apps (I really never used none of them anyway) and left only what supports the hardware, some removed software can be found in post #3. This ROM is setup for SPCS (Sprint) but can work on other carriers ....

HOW TO USE (Please Read Carefully):

To enable a package you will need to remove the "_skip" file to disable a package you will need to add a "_skip" file the structure of the kitchen is simple you will have SYS OEM ROM and EXT ... in the EXT folder is where you what to do you customizations and add your apps .... the directories for the EXT subdirectories are 1_Hermann_Rapheal 2_JD_Customizations 3_End_User, you want to work out of the folders 3_END_USER this is where you will add your EXT packages and tweaks that you want cooked into the ROM when you are done double click the script file it will build the ROM for you then all you have to do is flash, this kitchen does overwrite duplicate files so mistakes are very hard to make

READ ME: this kitchen is designed for simply advanced rom editing if you are not familiar with any of the processes that are involved with rom editing I suggest you just use a pre-cooked rom as the support for this kitchen is limited to whoever else that uses it that wants to help you

Sweet. So, when you say "live rom", does that mean that you will be updating with ULDR? That would be pretty fricking sick, but I thought it wasn't ready for primetime yet..

How soon? counting down ...

Is there a way to PATCH roms instead of flashing the whole?
I think MS likes patching.

Yes, there is a way using ULDR, but I don't think it's totally ready yet -- could be wrong though. If anyone in the TP world has it ready, it's prolly JD.

No no no ... lol I'm actually posting what I will be using versus making a ROM then posting that ROM while the ROM I use is actually something else in development - so instead of constant flashing I will be making the updates by cabs or regedits until the overall build itself updates ..

honestly I think that the autoupdate feature is a bad idea considering the time you would have to invest in making the proper file for it ... when all you have to do is hardflash or make a cab of the updated software ... kinda makes you wonder why MSFT hasn't did it and its been around since WM5 so I removed my ULDR from the ROM

Don't judge a book by it's cover. JD is one of the best chefs on this site and cares more about functionality then fancy logos and such. I've been using his roms for a while now and haven't looked back:mrgreen:

JD looking forward to it. Just wanted to let you know it looks like you have Adobe Reader in both cabs in post #3.

HTC Audiomanager_Eng?

Just wondering if someone can provide the htc audiomanager cab or a touch flo (standard) with working music tab. I really like how this rom is going to be very light but i really would love to have tf3d on this. When installing tf3d on a rom without it, all of the features work except for the music tab that says something about audiomanager_eng.

Re: JD 1.08-LR1 (Coming Soon)

so just to make sure i get it right, and to help anyone else that might not completely understand, the rom you are going to post is not a finshed rom? you are expecting a few bugs to pop out but rather than compiling fixes for all of the reported bugs and incorporating them into the subsequent build, you are going to issue cabs to fix the bugs? did i read that some of these fixes will require a hard reset? what would be the difference between hard resetting to fix a bug and installing a new rom? wouldn't you essentially be starting from scratch? did i interpret it correctly? you know i am in. JD is a household name around here.

alos what made you switch back to the stock sprint radio? 1.07.06F did not treat you well?

I wouldn't say the rom isn't completed. Every rom has it's bugs and instead of making you do a hard reset he will release fixes via cabs. No cab fix will require a hard reset. You may have to do a soft reset. If there is a problem that a cab install can't fix then he would release a new build which would require a hard reset. I have been using JD's rom for a while now and he is all about stability. I gurantee you will love this rom. You are all in for a treat.:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen :

He doesn't allow rodents in his roms. They cause problems and slow down the device lol

I have a theory about that I believe that is cause by the bluetooth notification being pulle pfrom two places .... 1. being the phone canvas 2. being the tachi taskbar manager ..... I will have to check into it for you

ROM is running like a champ so far JD, couple hours in already.

1 problem...in the JD's extra's cab i get a bunch of unsuccessful installs from the cabs. The only one i really want is the RSS Hub and that happens to be one that won't install. I've uninstalled the whole package a couple times and get the same result.

Installs fine:
Java
JetCet Presentation
JetCet Printing

Doesn't install:
Adobe
RSS
Worldcard
