Re: Elite Rom RC1 thread

ok guys.

i don't care what everyone says here, there is something wrong with your install package. i have never, ever had these problems flashing any rom. i have installed, reinstalled, cleared memory, hard reset, redownloaded the file over, reflashed, flashed sprint stock, etc. etc. etc. all giving me the same crappy result - the customizations just will not finish.

so. any ideas on what the problem is?

Re: Elite Rom RC1 thread

I noticed that Touchflo 3.0 (HTC scrolling software) was included. This should NOT be included with the 6.5 based rom. The issue is that it in effect replaces the 6.5 kinetic scrolling. The kinetic scrolling is one of the best features of 6.5 which is unfortunately missing from you ROM.

the question I have for you is how does it play in messaging if you can flick scroll and then stop on a message without it jumping inboxes then they are using the correct version that will not interfere with the scrolling of 6.5

The scrolling of 6.5 is definitely not working. For example, in your email inbox, you flick scroll and the scrolling just keeps going all the way to the end of the list, just like 6.1. You also have the issue of unintentionally clicking items when attempting to scroll. 6.5 scrolling is much better about separating the scrolling from "clicking" or selecting items.

You are assuming I have more than one inbox which I do not. I'll try to set up an additional one to test, but unfortunately the auto detection for email settings is not working for my live.com and sprint accounts.

Edit: Ok I added another inbox. It does not jump inboxes when flick scrolling. Nonetheless, the scrolling is using the touchflo method which is nothing live the kinetic scrolling of 6.5. I hate it when you scroll and it just scrolls indefinitely to the end of a list. If 6.5 scrolling is truly working flick scrolling should result in scrolling that gradually slows down and stops further down the list. Right now the touchflo way of scrolling is implemented across all the basic application like email, file explorer, etc.

Edit: Additionally Touchflo 3.0 installs a "Touchflo" icon under the system setting folder. When you click that you get the options for "Enable sound when finger scrolling...", "Enable large Start menu", and "Show System Status screen when status icons are tapped". None of these options are really compatible with 6.5. "Enable large Start menu" has no effect at all and "Show System Status screen" interferes with the Topaz Notifications.

Re: Elite Rom RC1 thread

I think we are being a bit too critical of the rom as I told astain its actually a pretty solid rom...save from the large memory it takes, it is a great rom and it has a lot of variety...
What surprised me was even on a vzw device, it was very VERY fast
I liked the haptic feedback as well
it is actually a good rom in my opinion too much for vzw but for what it does, it does pretty well

Re: Elite Rom RC1 thread

After reinstalling it again, it went through without problems. But I really need a weather update that will work. The cab I had for 6.1 won't work on 6.5. Any one have any ideas? I don't live in Chicago, I rather have the one for Bridgeview instead. Same with Maggy Valley, NC and Midway Park, NC.
