I'll cab it up later.
ok, tried that.. disablerecipientautocomplete was already set to 1.. changed max suggetions to 0 as well.

My method of changing to finger keyboard only worked for a little while.. it keeps reverting back to full qwerty with whatever other SIP is installed on here, not sure why. But it looks like thats actually a good thing.. with finger keyboard, I now get NO suggestions.. none from the "To" field and none in the bar at the bottom.. but with the default Full QWERTY keyboard there, I get suggestions just at the bottom.

looks like a solid fix! thanks!

It's because qwerty is set as default IM. Install SIPchange to set your preferred SIP as default.

I'm totally fine with the qwerty keyboard, I had only switched to fingerboard because it temporarily fixed the problem.. but your fix that you linked works much better so I'll continue with qwerty.
Thanks!

Also, re my last post and "Sprint wifi".. I've done some digging, Sprint is just the name given to the connection, I changed the name to Telus Data. I believe that icon just randomly showed up, it's still ACTUALLY the Ev icon/placeholder and acts like the Ev icon, but for some reason it changed to the wifi icon. It reverts back after I soft reset.

now, actually enabling Wifi, I'm trying to figure out how to actually connect to a wireless network.. I'm sure I'll figure it out with a quick search!

Thanks for all the help thus far! Loving the ROM overall!

edit:
hmmm.. Start -> settings -> connections -> there's supposed to be a WiFi icon here.. but there isn't.. and none of the other ones brings up anything where I can "search for wireless networks".. and I searched in many other places, can't seem to find an option for it.. hmmmmmm

Here's a screenshot from EnergyROM, there's a wifiwizard there.

You might wanna install a DCD Telus Carrier cab.

To change wifi networks: comm manager>settings>wireless lan>change networks

I checked there, that just brings up a "Configure network adapters" page, the same one as Start -> settings -> Connections -> network cards

with "my network card connects to:"

drop down box with 2 options, "the internet" and "Work". There's nowhere to scan for wireless networks.

I thought I had installed the DCD, but it was just sitting on my storage card.. flashed too many roms as of late guess I forgot to run it after this one! haha.

Is there anyway to add the original volume increase/decrease screen that was on the original Sprint TP to this ROM?

Well, it works on my diamond, so I'll have to look at the kitchen and see what I can come up with..

ok, thanks, one thing you could tell me for now.. is there some .exe file in the windows folder that I can try loading up? I have no idea if theres any way for you to tell that or not from peeking through your kitchen.

Anyone else having the same wifi problem as me?

What will this fix do to the finger kb. I'm kind of liking this keyboard more and more as I use it. The full qwerty was my prior favorite but I like the little tricks that the finger kb offers (i.e., long press keys).

Great ROM! After Groove fixes these little things it will only get better as new things come out.

it makes it so when you start typing into the "To" field for an SMS or email, no autosuggestions are shown to fill out the contact. so you'd have to type the full name, or the email address. but those will still work with the full qwerty after that fix.

the full qwerty keyboard has some of those tricks as well, long keypress for the symbols above the keys. works pretty well for most situations.
