I'm using 209-s and I have a few issues.

1. YouTube app will not play videos. Says "Cannot play video"
2. While on wifi it constantly pulls up a notification that wireless networks are available.
3. The phone gets so hot it stops charging.

I've tried and used almost every 200 SSS rom and never had any of these issues.

because it may have been a bad flash which happens from time to time. but i have seen your second and third problems on other roms and deemed them as probs with the phone not this rom

No Go on this fix. It did get rid of the bubble that popped up b4 the S2A, but at the same time it took a good 10 rings before my phone even saw the incoming call. Once it didn't even go through!!

really good news guys and gals. i have an extremely stable version of v0300 that i am getting ready to release. I have chosen to fall back to sys 23016 for a few different reasons which i will explain.
23017 was the first com3 build to implement some of the new UI changes that were seen in the 219xx builds. This also introducing some unwanted memory leaks. 23016 seems to be the latest com3 build without any added UI. The xip is now spinlocked, and this rom is really just running great. Only problem i have at the moment is the long press end key. Something seems to be interfering with it. I dont use it myself, so its on the back burner for the time being. I have updated most packages to Tachi 1917 OEMS which are native VGA. I can honestly say, i believe this is the best my phone has ran so far. I am very upset after reading over at xda about the progress on this latest port of manila stopping. I would be happy with a working stocks tab, and call it a day at this point. I am gonna see what i can do about getting the stock tab corrected. I have added all of the fixes and the ringer fix as well. I also fixed the comm mgr from acting funky, and added wifi sharing app to it as well. I guess it would be safe to say you could expect a release by the end of morro. If i have missed anything or overlooked a problem, please bring it to my attention before the end of morro so i can get to it before the next release. Ill be back soon...

Usually it gets stuck or performs very poorly. I end up soft resetting it to reboot it and it will hang for a while and come in to the first time setup screen.

The funny thing is that it will partially hard reset. All contact and personal data is in there, but all the other apps are broken and everything is back to default. I end up having to manually hard reset to get it back to normal. So far i've been lucky enough that this happens at home and not on the road (I travel frequently). I wanted to know if anyone has witnessed the same issue, and if so, have you resolved it?

Never had this issue occur with any version of SsS; been using it since v0117. Could be something you're installing over the rom that isn't compatible.

deck,

Got a couple questions... by switching back to sys 23016, what are the UI changes that will now be taken away that are currently in v0209? Just wondering, cuz I'm really digging v0209. Only issue I see are some of the missing buttons and titles in the settings framework.

Also, I never had any problems with my stocks tab. Mine works fine. What was the issue?

That is nice. I also notice by your title, that you were a ppc pimp.
Let me say, pimpin ain't easy.

I am sure you will release the version information when you release the ROM.

Do you know if you were able to resolve the calendar issue? Where when you would click on a calendar entry in TF3D, it would turn all white just like the white cracka I am.

Deck..

My Deck Touch Pro is running great on v209-S save a couple of issues.

1. Opera - Youtube does not seem to work inside opera...not sure if that is working as programmed or not. Additionally www.pocketnow.com crashes opera.

2. PocketTwit crashes on startup and does not run. I do remember it being an issue with newer version .NETcf (3.7) and it worked reverting back to 3.5.

Just trying to help.

Thanks again for the PPC love!

I assume you are using a TP on MetroPCS?? Did you buy it from them or did you port it from another carrier, i.e. Sprint or Verizon?? If you ported the phone from Sprint, then this rom will work on your phone. There's a metropcs guide floating around the TP forum.

just fyi, it's a newer prepay cellcarrier, at least in Florida, but it's gaining a following since it's $45.00 a month for unlimited useage.

See Post #2 for Manila fixes, not to far after the rom download links.

look at post 2019 page 202, unzip all files to windows dir. and yes to overwrite the old ones. Make sure to turn off manila before you install the files. good luck and hit thanks if this helps

Did anyone notice the touch zoom start working again on the multitouch button? Mine started working today it wasn't earlier in the day and I pulled my phone out and accidentally zoomed. It worked both for texts and opera? Maybe I bumped an option in my pocket?

Does anyone else get random hard resets over time? I'm still on v0205 but so far on every version the phone will hard reset itself anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks of use.

Have you ever watched or seen it the phone start into the hard resets you are seeing? I had this happen to me on Wednesday and had no clue what happened other than when I was driving and looked down at the phone to see that First-boot configuration crap on the screen for some reason. When it was done, I had some middle of the road state where some things were personalized and some were fresh from the ROM flash.

Interestingly, it happend to me again this evening and I was able to see what I think might be leading to the problem. I realized that in my case it happend after I reset the phone, and this time I was watching as it happened.

The phone booted up to what should give the unlock screen (use it for work email and we have the policy to require a password) and instead I get several flashes and then the wonderful warning that too many bad passwords have been entered and I needed to enter the "a1b2c3" to continue to attempt to enter the password. Unfortunately, a few seconds later it pops up the "One more bad password and the phone data will be wiped", followed several seconds later by a shutdown and upon reboot the phone was wiped and started the ROM default config cycle again.

The only thing I can think of on the phone that interacts with the password and unlock interface is Sprite Backup - I also know that I remember a couple of time with Sprite Backup having some wierd issues on previous ROMs I have had on the phone when it is set to override the unlock to allow the backup to operate on reboot.

So, do you have your phone synced to Exchange with a security policy enforced for unlock settings? And do you use Sprite and set it to override unlock the phone for you after the index and reboot? I do have those things set and now wonder if that is where the problem is coming from. I am going to skip using Sprite for a while and see if it happens again, but it has happened with the 0205 beta and 0209 builds so far - never before those two. Previously I had seen some odd behavior at the password screen when backing up, but it never went so far as to blow through the security policy threshold on its own like this. Crazy stuff indeed.
